"I'm not going to taste them." Unexpected and hilarious! It made me laugh a bit too much.

Thank you for sharing. Both of these look wonderful. It costs a lot more to ship them to Australia, so I will need ot choose wisely.

So it appears the Bernard Breviary takes the win. I wonder how difficult it is to properly learn to chant the offices. Fun video, thanks!

I think the Anglican Office Book and the Saint Bernard Breviary are both worthwhile to own. Martin Luther 😁 was influenced by both Saint Augustine of Hippo and Saint Bernard and Saint Ambrose.
So, perhaps Anglo-Catholicism is just Western Orthodoxy. But, I digress ...
I think having both options does make the one who prays either of these books the winner, as you said.

I'm afraid that I am not inclined to be chanting the Office any time soon (though noble to do so). I have had the AOB since Advent and it has been a joy to use and pray with. . . . Vive la difference.

Do you have a walkthrough of your library? It looks like there are many interesting books on your desk.

I don't. Perhaps I should to see if anyone might have quesions about some of them.

@@dalecaldwell I already have questions about some of them, so I cast my entirely useless and unimportant vote in favor of you doing it.

I'm being broken down. Today I was listening to this: czcams.com/video/K-xoG1yV3oo/video.html
and few things hit me in my core like this. I had this album years ago. I bought it in the bookstore at Bob Jones University, of all places. At any rate, I realized that I may be really missing out by not getting the Anglican Office Book (and maybe another copy of The English Hymnal 1933). So I'll keep "praying about it" as we say.

The only criticism I have of the Breviary is how it essentially locks you into one lectionary and psalm cycle. You couldn't, for example, follow along with the readings in your church unless you happened to be in the ACNA. But I suppose as an official product of the ACNA, this wasn't really something they were concerned with. It's certainly good enough to overlook this one flaw.

See Psalm 140 in the LXX numbering. Of course it's not greed if it's books.

@@dalecaldwell Are you referring to verse 5? Is it in the daily office? I'm afraid it is still unclear to me.

@DrGero15 I think Dionne Warwick recorded a song about that Psalm about 60 years.
