      I am in my 60 and I don’t have big bike license but I already bought a Kawasaki Versys 650 for my 24 years old son 2 years ago who got the full B license. He got it when he was 16 years old. He has ridden from KL to Penang and back. I only got B2 license but has been riding for 47 years! Got a Yamaha Lagenda 115cc as well. 😊

    Bro, a quick tip. What i usually do is buy livita or redbull and mix it with the 1.5L mineral water. That way works better for me during my long journey solo ride up to the north. ☺️👍🏼

    I find that on Malaysian highways, there's a strong wind pressure when riding next to large trucks, which you don't get on Singapore expressways.

      Yep, there are also strong cross winds if there are open plains to your left or right. You've got to be careful during those times.

    hahahahahahh 10:46..i remembered..riding to Thailand those FJRs, kawa concourse were waiting for me hahaha riding a GS 1200 ... i like to take it slow n steady and on touring mode so no speeding hahaha i was like left and right aww-wing at the scenery...and when i arrived at that petrol station.. they were waiting for me like almost 30mins? hahahahahaah..but we enjoyed the ride to Krabi though... well reality checks in.. been quite some time i ride in... WORK WORK WORK this is SINGAPORE.. u keep on working cos u need to keep on PAYING AND PAYING hahahaha

      Hi there, here are the timings which I planned out. I failed to factor in the fatigue levels, and rest timings (huge lesson learnt!), so I reached my destination at a much later timing . Timings are a rough estimate though

      Glad it helps. The plan is just a rough guide, but do factor in rest periods and ride within your limits. Fatigue is dangerous.

      Not anytime soon, but its quite straightforward though!
      You have to get the forms ready to travel up to thailand, i went to a shop at Changlun (there are many shops that provide this 1 stop service). After that its just a ride up to the border. There are signages, and the people are very helpful to show you where do you have to go.
      All part of the adventure! There are other channels to show you the exact routes to take in the borders crossings.

      Hi there, apologies for the late reply. With regards to breakdowns/incidents with the bike, I got a contact from a friend. You can find 'Ipin GTR Bike Towing' on facebook, they cover towing from Malaysia to Thailand.
      For contingencies and monitoring purposes (I like to cover all my bases), I send my live location to a group of friend on whatsapp, and did check-ins with them whenever I stop for a break, or for refueling.

    - Duty Free " Kedah just by the highway , the thailand insurance shop is open 24hrs?
    -What time did you reach pit-stop duty-free on this trip?
    -The petrol kiosk all accept our bank card paywave? can we pay on the monitor above the nozzles by swiping card n pin number or paywave>>*or have to go cashier and pay?

      Hi there,
      - I started my journey at approximately 2230hrs.
      - The insurance shop isnt open 24hours, you can google 'Naluri Aman Sdn Bhd' to find out their updated operating hours.
      - I reached the 'duty-free' stop to do up the papers at around 1030hrs the next day.
      - I paid for my petrol using cash. I had to go to the counter and pay a deposit before they will allow you to pump. I'm not sure about cards though.

      Hi there, a full tank for my bike is 30litres.
      I pumped RON97 for my bike at the average cost of 3.3 to 3.4 rm per litre. I set aside 90sgd for fuel for this trip on the way up.

      If i remembered correctly, my riding jacket was about 150sgd? For the fuel cost, I think I made a total of 4 stops? I catered 30sgd per refueling stop. My helmet was priced around 150sgd too. Hope it helps.

      Hi there, theres no need to pay for tolls if you are riding. Just keep to the left of the toll booth and there will be signages indicating the route to bypass the tolls.

    I'm very worried about parking anywhere in Malaysia or Thailand and leaving my bike unattended and out of sight! Other than getting a cover and parking brake, any other parking tips to share?

      Hi there, an advice I got from many experience riders is to include 'closed parking' for your bike in your consideration for booking your accommodation. Examples are private parking, or gated parking with guards. I usually ask my friends for recommendation on the accommodations =) I always 'dirty' my bike cover in hopes that people will avoid going near it. hahaha.
      Another is to park in lighted areas, and within line of sight of your activity (example, drinking at a café).
      Exercise caution in your parking, and ride safe!

      I will usually find some reputable hotels with good parking spot, it will never be 100% safe, but better than parking my bike along road sides.

      The fuel range is about 500km for a full tank for a GSA. I may be mistaken, there are in depth specifications that are available online. Hope I helped.

      There was a singaporean on R15 and another one on Spark 135. Both made it to Mae Hong Son the ultimate Singaporean rider achievement.

      Any bike can reach anywhere. Wandering Wasp used her Vespa to ride to Europe. I was in Krabi in 2018, 2 guys rode B Bone n PCX to Siem Reap n back too.

      @@seifun3519 If I remembered correctly, the documents I did at the shop was the 'TM2, TM3 and Thai Insurance'. It took them around 30-45mins for them to process it, but it was not crowded that day when I was there.
      Its a '1 stop shop' for the immigration documents, and there are plenty of shops that offer this service.
      Do google and check if there are any updated requirements for land crossings.

      I was cruising at 110km/h, which is the speed limit for most part of the North South highway.
