A swamp cooler is mostly in old cars that didn’t have A/C. What it does is when you drive, air from out side goes into the cooler, and into your car. You crack open your side window so there’s a little seep, then you put in the cooler. That’s what a swamp cooler does😁

The swamp cooler is like an old-timey air conditioner. It's meant to take the air that's being rammed into it, add some moisture, and cool you off with fast, wet air.

That “thing” on the side is the OG air conditioning. Your window would be cracked and you’re full the bucket with ice. Then when driving the air would flow through the ice and into the vehicle through the cracked window
