- April 13th, Rick May, best known as Soldier in TF2, has died after contracting COVID-19.
Here's my tribute in form of community pictures and an animation.
I've collected as many pictures as possible. All community created artworks, screenshots or even drawings you sent me. There were too many! I couldn't add them all. This shows, once again how connected and big this community still is. This this great.

I took rick’s acting classes a few years ago. Truly an amazing man and a great teacher. I will never forget him not only for being part of my childhood (tf2) being an amazing teacher and my best friend. Godspeed you magnificent bastard.

I only got into tf2 recently and I saw lots of things like Sfm before I got it. I than joined the community for a bit and learned a lot. Than I heard the news. I was so sad that I he died but happy I was not in the community at the time to experience such sadness. Today I watched many videos about this. And now… I was left in tears. I am still crying. We all miss you Rick may. I salute to you soldier.

Im not gonna lie back in February my dog was having organ problems and was dying. I was going for a college visit and before I left I told him “you cannot die without my permission”, little fucker did so anyways. -RIP Alex, aka comrade doggo.

I want to leave this comment by saying that by now I started playing tf2 very late so I couldn't fully enjoy every detail of it, but I've always loved the style of the game and above all the dubbing, and in particular Soldier's voice has always fascinated me and amused. I know it's late but I want to especially thank Rick May for the voice that triggers my truest laughs. I hope he is well, I will miss it. "You were good son, real good, maybe the best."

Lol he was 80 years old and people be acting like it was only covid19 that killed him, sure it helped, but then again being 80 years old not to mention suffering a stroke only two months prior to his death didn't exactly help.
I'm not saying covid 19 isnt bad, but it only prays upon the weak. I know a few people who had and walked out just fine, they said it was nothing more than the flu.
