Interstella 5555 was made exclusively for this album yes, by an acclaimed Japanese anime producer. It consists of just the songs, no filler. Yet it makes a quite nice story.
Thomas and Guy Manuel just did what they always dreamed, to be remembered just by their music, but in the process, they not only will be remembered for only that, they also revolutionized the electronic music in a way they wouldn't imagine. Their legacy will live on.

I kinda wish more artists kept their identity lowkey because I can only imagine how becoming famous affects music production. Mad respect for these guys for not caring about the fame and only the music.
Some artists do really interesting commentaries on fame and the nature of celebrity in our society with their stage personas. Sia comes to mind, as does Lady Gaga, etc.

sad but joy at the same time. I can tell the guy in the middle was having that sad emotional feeling and I get it too
The guy singing is not part of daft punk, he just heard that they were doing a song and said that he was going to sing the song
Just to clarify, auto tune, talkboxes and vocoders are all separate things that just sound similar. This song uses auto tune, Harder Better Faster Stronger uses a vocoder, and there’s no talkbox on this record but the best example is the hook of California Love by Tupac

I understand that since their split-up announcement, we talk more about them, but I can't, for the life of me, believe that people who are above 15 have never heard anything from DP apart from "Get Lucky" and their collab with The Weeknd. "One more time", "Aerodynamic", "Harder better faster stronger", "Da Funk", etc...?

That famous actor from Tron: Legacy is Jeff Bridges lol. He actually played in the original Tron movie that had tetris like computer animations and Legacy is a continuation of that movie.

There are not a lot of times I get choked up when I hear certain musical artists have passed on or given up their art, but when the Daft boys called it quits, it was a sad day, the day the music died, certainly in EM terms. They didn't put out a lot of music, but the influence they had and the range of styles they played is legendary. If you want, you can react to all their music, and I would not put up a fuss. Point of note, since Discovery is thematic and conveys a complete story, at least via Interstella 5555, kind of hard to just listen to a song here and there. Maybe it's time for a whole album review. Hey, ya never know.
I kinda feel that way about Pretty Lights. He was a one man show and can return whenever he wants to though.
He just doesnt want to right now. He is definitely one of the EDM greats though. I hope he returns to the stage....one more time.

No, you're right, this was pinnacle daft punk. This song and the entire video series and movie was revolutionary. This song gives me hope that perhaps there is one song that can still unite all of humanity. And everyone can dance together
I remember when this song came out in every new year they would play it on the radio then when the Internet came a real thing at the time the adult swim website had the first four videos up on their website for viewing and I was instantly hooked this is my favorite Music of all time and if this was on the try not to dance challenge I would fail

I cannot tell you how many times I've watched your review of this album. It's my new favorite album of all time. I really enjoy watching you guys react to it. I came to the party late. I didn't listen to Daft Punk for a long time because I thought it was punk rock which I am not into. I was a fool. They almost had to sedate me when they announced their breakup. I'm sure they're still friends, just retired from the duo. They are still working on projects. I choose to believe that they will get back together at some point. Here's hoping. The superheroes track features a Barry Manilow sample. Also Veridis Quo, (wither thou goest), is also a phrase from the bible, "wither thou goest, I will go." Hence all the followers throwing themselves into the volcano once Earl fell in.

You should react to early Music from Thomas and Guy Manuel when they did a lot of either solo work or worked with other French DJ's and musicians in separate bands such as Thomas Bangalter being in a band called Stardust which made a one off masterpiece called Music Sounds Better With You and so on or Call on Me by Together which was also another band that featured Bangalter and so on although there is a more popular remix of the original which is probably the version everyone knows by ther Swedish DJ Eric Prydz which actually used the real singers vocals because the original vocals were sampled by Thomas and Stephane of Together from a song called Valerie by Steve Vinewood but they never ended up releasing the song and it was only played in clubs by DJ's and when Eric Prydz heard it he decided to make his own edit of the song and he ended up contacting Steve Vinewood and Steve agreed to redo the vocals to better suite the song because they didn't fully match the dance theme of the music
