On the excellent topic of ditching the plastic for the kids… when i got tired of my kids breaking glasses, i switched them over to small stainless steel plates, bowls and little mugs. They look cute, are dishwasher safe and completely indestructible! You can actually find them at most any camping store; we use them for everyday use in the home. They don’t break the bank either. Also just found some mini copper Moscow mule mugs for the kids at the thrift shop and we’re loving those too. If you’ve ever noticed, colorful plastic things wreck EVERY SINGLE picture they show up in! No more lol.
For me, cooking and/or baking something adds romance to the home. The wonderful smell of fresh ingredients and something prepared in the home is like love. There are basic recipes and more challenging. I just attempt to make what suits the season, soothes my senses and to make a satisfying presentation. Like anything else in life, if something doesn't quite "pan out," I try again or make something else. Enjoying life and sharing an experience with others is the key. Thanks for posting.
I agree! I decided to wear my jewelry and make my boudoir and ensuite bath as pretty as possible as I spend a lot of time in there for peace and quiet from the loud family members who moved in. I added a small chandelier, a comfy wing back arm chair, pillows I hand embroidered, new matelese bedding, and my own hand painted watercolor paintings. New flooring and base mouldings in bathroom, and my art on the walls.
It is my escape when I have to get away to read or listen to music while I paint.
Watching your vlogs has been a great comfort and inspiration. I watch for french style additions for my home when I thrift shop and have found some lovelies!

I have music playing frequently, flowers yes too! As to wearing a dress/skirt and jewelry.... Kinda hard to get down on my hands and knees to work in our vineyard and orchard wearing a dress.. The one time when I did wear some beautiful gold earrings working out there one day, I lost one....so now I remember to remove my good jewelry. All that being said, I DO dress up if I'm not working outside getting muddy, dirty & sweaty.... Don't forget to mention applying a little cologne helps us feel feminine even if we do have to wear mundane work jeans and shirts. I bring beauty and romance to our lives by using the good china and other beautiful plates, cups, glasses often! No need to be using ugly plastic or worse....paper or styrofoam! Great ideas Angela! Keep them coming!
Yep that's the way women used to dress. My grandma Gladys always wore dress slacks and always had her hair coifed and her makeup on. I've been collecting wicker and woven baskets as well. I use them for garden plants and stuff in the house. They look so good and they do add beauty to any environment. I found a woven basket just recently and it's pretty banged up so I thought I'd put a grow bag in it and replant my poor fern that's been in an ill fitting pot. I love Lanterns. I think old lanterns add beauty too. I found some Turkish looking ones that have colored glass and inside you can place a tea light. They can be hung anywhere on chains. I don't have access to real flowers but I've found some beautiful fake flowers. My hubby said he loved what I've done with the place. Old candle holders are neat too. Shalom Angela.

My mother used to look like she was about to walk down a fashion runway just to go to the store. Her hair and nails always done too and she kept the house impeccable and made dinners from scratch and looked beautiful and feminine while doing so.
I learned to do this as a child from my grandmother . She always had a dress on and natural makeup and hair done. She made everyday things so magical and elegant. We call it romancing the ordinary and have taught my children and grandchildren the same. Thanks Angela for a great video❤️
That was a great video a lot of women go around in PJ.hair up in ponytail and no makeup.But you know that’s is so depressing looking in the mirror and seeing yourself that’s Scary so it’s nice seeing you and taking care of yourself,don’t stop.

This video really resonated with me! Years ago I read a book by Alexandra Stoddard called Living a Beautiful Life-she had a similar goal of imparting inspiration and beauty into your regular, everyday life. Great content, and I’d love to see more!
I've had the same philosophy all of my life. Some people think it's crazy, and that we should save those things for special occasions. I think we should make our life pretty and enjoyable and enjoy the work of doing so.
I agree. I've always used mason jars, wicker, and wire baskets. The only thing I could add to this video is stoneware crockery. I love and collect them. They are so useful and send me back in time to the Victorian/Edwardian era of home preserving.
I had a baby right before the pandemic, and then… there was a pandemic… so I feel like I’ve spent the entire last year and a half in leggings, t-shirts, and nursing tank tops. I’m SO looking forward to chic-ing up this summer 💛 Thank you for the inspiring video!

Parisienne farmgirl I agree with you 100%! And I do all these things you've mentioned , especially since C , when life was put on hold for us for a long time as we were in lockdown most of the year. I could also add the beautiful coffee mugs or porcelain cups I use every day for my coffee or tea , it is such a pleasure to drink out of a beautiful thing rather than just a plain dull mug. Life can ve dull enough sometimes and we need a bit of a romance and injection of beauty in different colours, shapes and textures .. I love your French vibe" , have got lots of it at my home too . Lovely ideas here! I also think wearing lipstick does the world of good - it brightens the complexion without blush or foundation if you can’t manage it one day and adds a pop of colour to a more muted outfit. One of the most common compliments I receive is about my lipstick, how the colour is just right and how it brightens. It adds a sure touch of femininity 💄
Great ideas. I grow tonnes of flowers every year for the past 5 years. Maybe one day to sell 😍But for now they're all mine. Enough to have bouquets in every room

Love your ideas. I’ll be on the lookout for a beautiful basket this weekend at tag sales. For me it’s wearing dresses, using my pretty tea cups, wearing a pretty apron, flowers and more flowers, can’t have too many flowers and wearing pretty night things.

So true! I agree with all your inspiring tips! So many people put joy and beauty " on -hold" to do what is practical and "necessary". Or they work hard all their life and sacrifice so much only to be disillusioned in the end, when they thought that they now arrived at their time to enjoy life, only to face health challenges or ailing parents and on and on.

this is fabulous. more please. you look radiant!! i dress everyday, i take care of my mom who has alzheimers/dementia.. i homeschool... dressing well makes a huge difference in my mental health. i use flowers to brighten up our space.. i moved into my childhood home to help my father care for my mom several years ago...their home decor is not my personal aesthetic and my father is resistant to changing the decor so i try to incorporate" little pretties" wherever i can to boost my mood. love your channel.. it makes me so happy. yes to the music for sure!!!!
Wow your doing a great job. Sometimes caregivers need to hear that. Your honoring your parents because alot of people just don't want to bother with it. It will be so worth it later on. I always think to myself, I never want to live with regrets again like in the past so now I just try to do the best I can do. That's what your doing and I think that's just wonderful!
