+Professor Breadstick They did this because Apex has been launched, and they're worried of their players being taken by Apex. So, they made a surprising event that'll obviously make Fortnite players (who moved to Apex) interested and play this game again.
Although it's a good event. They need to bring back the game to it's peak again. In Season 9 (Current Season), Epic Games vaulted *Pump Shotgun* and replaced it with *Combat Shotgun.*
People were so freaked out, and there are several players who left Fortnite, probably. Because Pump Shotgun is the *most used gun in Fortnite.*

I started playing it before it was popular, it got all hyped up and people hopped on the train.. now apex is out, I’m playing it because it’s actually fun you have a company that cares about the players experience, they update the game to how the players want it. But for fortnite, they release non stop updates which literally ruin the game, when they destroyed the map, they ruined locations that were in the game since day 1 and replaced them with shitty locations, they put zombies, ZOMBIES in all modes.. They didn’t listen to us Players that played their game, but they listened to all the bots and noobs and gave them every update they wanted. The game is all about skins now, if you don’t have a rare skin apparently you’re “Not OG” I got 90 skins including season 2 skins. The game destroyed it self and Now Apex will come up. Happens to every game!

Epic wasn't being nice. They had intense competition around that time, Apex Legends. Giving a free Battle Pass would entice more people to join the Fortnite crew instead. Chapter 2 is the most generous they've been! Two FREE skins last Christmas, they NEVER intended to do that back in Chapter 1! They're pretty cold-hearted 😔😔
