Couple Finally Gets Squatters Out of Dream Home They Now Hate

- Tracie Albert and her husband Myles had a harrowing 14-month journey to getting their dream home after they bought it. The couple purchased the house over a year ago, but the previous owner refused to leave, and couldn’t be forced out due to pandemic eviction restrictions. Now, the squatters have moved out, and the house is in surprisingly good shape. But the couple says they can’t imagine moving in after what they’ve been through. Myles said just driving up to the house causes “so much anxiety.” #InsideEdition
They should definitely sue the previous owner, not only they were deceived by him the stress they had to live to because of him.
I agree!

Yup the seller committed wired fraud. The seller received wired funds knowing he had no intent of moving out and thus made a false promise and misrepresented his intent to the buyer but still knowingly received money.
They can’t due to technicalities and loopholes

I totally side with the home owners hating the house. When justice and the law uphold rights to squatters occupying someone's home, every single citizen needs to VOTE and remove those currently in office. A total overhaul. I can't find the right words beyond this.
Let an elected official get a squatter in his or her home and see how fast the laws get changed.

I think the house is too expensive and ugly sell it and move on
Me and my family had to deal with squatters. We rented out a trailer for a long time. The last couple seemed iffy, but at the beginning they paid. After they started doing stupid things, we decided to remove them. Soon they stopped paying rent, overused the utilities. It was a nightmare. It took us 6 months to evict them. After the sherif came, he forced them out, once he left, they returned back in. He had to be called back. They stayed at a hotel. It was a nightmare. The cost to repair was beyond what it was worth. So we decided to destroy it altogether. It was just a nightmare,
Thats the time you skip the cops go to your local gang give em $2000 and say I want this fool out of this trailer by Monday and they will get it done

Learn the law cuz those squatters do. It's even far worse in NYC. It took my father and his lawyer over a year to finally get an entire family of squatters out of my hospitalized grandfather's home.
My grandfather was hospitalized for over a month (terminal cancer) and a family (a pregnant mother, father, and 3 children under 6 y/o) broken in (idk when) and refused to leave.
The 3 kids, the pregnant mother and the fact that it was winter (December) is what allowed the judge to sympathized and let them stay until my father went to eviction court. The people kept appealing and claiming different falsities until they were finally made to leave, over a year later and the place was trashed. And yes all of my grandfather's belongings were there when they broke in and ofc these losers stole and sold his stuff throughout the year.
It's insane how this is allowed to happened without any repercussions.

Somewhat similar thing happened in my parent’s neighborhood. The homeowner across the street from us rented out her house. The dude that moved in played the electric guitar at full blast and the entire street could hear it. My parents and I all spent the entire time in our bedrooms because we could hear him from our living room at all hours of the day. I felt the most bad about that house’s left next door neighbor, an old granny that had just retired and loved gardening. Everyone kept contacting the homeowner to kick the guy out, not sure what made her finally cave. The house’s right next door neighbor was a brand new home that was worth more than a million dollars, so maybe that real estate agent threatened to sue, since noise pollution was against local ordinances. Well the homeowner arrives and the dude refuses to leave. It went on for weeks. Finally she offered him a refund for the rest of the month’s rent (which is fair, I would also expect a partial refund if I’m getting evicted). He left, the house next to it was sold, the retiree went back to gardening, and the street looks great now.

If you do you diligence to try to find them and they don't show up for their stuff they can sell it or tell the storage rental lapse and let the storage place sell it.

Happened to my friends student dorm, back in 2012.
We all lived in a bunch of student homes, located in a cul-de-sac (dead end road). All houses there where privately owned, but the owners rented the rooms out as student dorms. First day after summer-holiday, my friend came to my dorm-house, explaining me that some crazy people where squatting in his dorm-house. Police told them they're not allowed to enter the building, until they had a court order forcing the squatters to leave.
Us students organized a 24/7 street-party, right in front of the house with squatters. The squatters called the police about noise disturbance at night, the police replied with "well... If you don't like it there, you're always free to just leave!"... They left after 3 days, due to massive lack of sleep. We students went to sleep at others their dorm-room, couple of blocks further away.

They gave squatters rights so that owners would be deterred from taking matters into their own hands and let the legal system handle it for them. In my state, what they would have done is, either set up a rental contract so they could get mortgage payments until this guy figured his life out, or they could have done a legal eviction, at which point the Sheriff would have broken down the door and arrested the man. It's common here in NC, for people to set up a rental contract with the previous owners while they continue to live there until their new home is ready. Up until the pandemic, it was uncommon to just kick people out on the street when they needed more time. Proved he was the owner and did not know these people nor their furniture on the street.
That's how he got his house back... Made sure one of the plumbers stayed inside as official renter. The plumbers had the day of their life in fun.
LMAO that's a great idea
Effectively claim squatter’s rights on the squatters.😂
Cannot believe the squatters called the cops.😅
@@ethanweeter2732 O yes, and the cops have to protect them against horrible owners... So be quick. Do it in three minutes...
I'm shocked the police got there that fast. I called in a break in on a home I rented and it took the police over 20 minutes to arrive. The burglers had kicked in the front door, completely tearing out the catch and that portion of the door frame.
If you get a squatter NEVER go to the cops, go to a bikie bar and pay some big dudes a few hundred to get them out it will save you a fortune!

Our government needs a wake up call! This is unexceptionable & morally wrong.
This is an example of lack of justice in this country. There is no effing way it should have taken 14 months to get those squatters out of THEIR HOME.
I don't understand why they didn't just kick the door down and beat the squatter half to death. That's what I would've done.
Would have taken me and a couple friends 14 minutes. They wouldn't want to come back
I'm french and it's the same in France. I don't understand why squatters have more right than the owners. Its completely stupid.
They didnt even get them out the house. The squatters got out on their own
Mate, this is literally how it is everywhere in the West...in fact, in the UK it's even worse, you have to take them to court and the whole process can be longer than a year...you aren't even allowed to go inside the house at all, and many squatters end up changing the locks and pretending like the house is theirs..one situation where the actual homeowner got arrested because the squatter called the police on him....
They should sue the state for legalizing squatters and further damages. I, myself would not live in it not knowing if that squatter will come back into my house when I’m gone to work or travel or just heading to do some grocery. Nobody should have to go through this on their dream house! ☹️
@Matthew Klebaur right and they already said there was no damage

See if your state has what's known as a "Declaration of Homestead" you can file on your home when you purchase. This negates, in Idaho, all such claims...
I hope they were able to let go of this awful experience & move into their new home.
I totally understand. They haven’t even moved in and it’s full of bad memories. I would also feel super paranoid that the squatter would come back to get revenge or something. I would just sell it.

@@organicallyhannah it's a saying not to be taken literally. Usually people say "this lives in my head rent free" and then a video or song follows for example
My father had squatters living in his 1 bedroom apartment, I didn't know this until I visited him. When I got there, my father was extremely ill. He told me he let his friend stay there a couple weeks then her whole moved in living there for 4 months, and one of her children was on house arrest under that address. The place looked like a hoarders episode with black mold everywhere. Expecting to visit a couple of hours turned into a 4 day hospital visit, my father almost died. During the course of those 4 days with no change of clothes for myself since I lived a few hours away, I bought him clothes from Walmart and moved him into my home. I had him turn off all the utilities, and on the 6th day the squatters left. Before they left, I confronted the parents and the house arrest kid asking them if this is how they want to teach their children how to live? The husband threatened my father to kill him, the mother threatened my father to have some of her friends kill him, and the son threatened to have some of his friends jump him. I didn't know any of this. But yeah, I chased them out when the police couldn't do anything by turning off all the utilities, and told management they can renovate the apartment in a couple days after I cleaned out everything with a bumpster trailer. Then I told management that my father would be living with me so they could rent out the apartment. My father was in such bad shape there was no way I could allow him to live by himself anymore. 8 years later he still lives with me and I helped him get a 2014 challenger, his dream car. His is still recovering from the entire ordeal.
So sad. I’m happy he’s good now❤

In DC libraries they used to provide pamphlets to inform people of their “tenant rights”. It used to be that a tenant could refuse to pay rent making the landlord lose money, then if they forced the landlord to sell they were given first right to purchase the house with all the money they chose not to pay out, but they could sell that right to a developer for $10-15k. All in all they could make $20k+ for a couple months of squatting.
It’s no longer a home, but at least it’s still an asset. Good luck to their family!

@@MrChaseBlue how is it an eviction if they sold their home?

I hope they go after the previous owner and have him refund them all the mortgage payments they were making!
I think this should be referred to the DA and have the previous owner brought up on wire fraud charges or something. He completed the real estate transaction, signed legal documents releasing ownership and received funds for the sale of the home. There has to be some legal ramifications in this scenario. A few years in a penthouse suite with metal bars on the D Block with some real tough soul snatching men is what I consider Justice served. And restitution
