- We had a cow in one of our pastures that raised a great calf, but got very aggressive when she had a calf. We have tolerated her for a few years but decided it was finally time to send her on down the road.

11:58 when you said "Do something " she was thinking ... "Well open the gate then" 🤣🤣🤣
😂😂
I just got caught by a angry momma cow and she fractured my spine. They are dangerous, im glad you didn’t get hurt
Goodness, hope you have a speedy recovery
Watching from Ray City Ga. Im from parrish Fl.love alabama love the people. Hope to watch more of yall.
Thanks for watching!
I love how he called her crazy cow the hole time😂
And enjoy watching you two work your way through life in the clean air of the country. Watching from Opelika.
Thanks! You aren't too far from us. We go through Opelika when we head to Florida.
Life is too short to deal with crazy cattle! Good move sending her the sale barn. I recently bought a yearling bull, fed him for a while, thought he had settled down, then he proved me wrong and I found him a new home!
Haha yeah we usually try and give them a chance. Gets frustrating, especially if they start turning some other cows in the herd crazy. Luckily she was very easy to catch. She just didn’t want anybody near her calf.
Smart decision, there's to many good ones out there to put up with one like that, I've been on the receiving end of a rank mama cow, she didn't stay on the farm long!! Enjoy your channel
I agree! When she had her first calf Eric was walking near her and she knocked him to the ground. We put up with her for a few years but now that our kids are getting older we decided it was time for her to go. Thanks!
Cow is what I call an old school cow, what I was raised with back in the day. Todays cows are new school cause you can walk right up to their babies & they could care less
Most of ours are like that. Don’t mind if you walk up to their calves. I guess we still have a few old school cows thought because some of them don’t want you around their baby.
Ben and Eric I'm sure glad neither of you guys got hurt. I've climbed the corral a few times getting away from a fighting cow,, even thrown over once when I was a young man. Once the ornery ones are in the trailer I say Praise the Lord she is gone. Thanks for the video
Absolutely! We have put up with her for several years but finally decided enough was enough! We have one of her daughters that will be calving for the first time this fall. We’ll see if she passed the crazy on to her.
That's what I said when I left my ex in her house. So glad I'm free from her raging anger.
You fellows have got yourselves a real hard and dangerous job. Thank you for your hard work. FROM GEORGIA
Thank you! Most days the cows are pretty easy going luckily.
Black Angus are ornery😊
You should have sent crazy cow to the old animal retirement center
She no longer resides on our farm!
No place on my farm for crazy cows. Too many good ones around to put up wit that.
Enjoyed the video!!
Thanks! We agree
Yep, that’s all she’s good for is ground beef for 🍔and 🌶️. So sorry for the loss of your friend. So tragic, God bless and 🙏🙏
Thank you!
Sorry to hear the passing of your friend😥will be keeping all in Prayer🙏🙏🙏, also we raised meat goats, and had one that was trouble, the best at finding a way out of a pasture, would wear you out trying to feed, and she absolutely ruled the roost, she birthed some of the finest kids with high ADG, wife advised she did not typically like to eat a whole lot of goat meat, usually a couple times a year, but mentioned she was looking forward to BBQ'ing "Big Red" as she affectionally named this one😁😁😁 another good video Hunt Brothers👍
Thank you very much!
😂😂 we can definitely relate! For some reason the crazy ones always seem to be such good producers. Not worth it though for us. We put up with here for a few years but it was finally her time to go.
Good job men, Australia 🇦🇺
Thank you!
You had the right tractor just need to use that bail spike proper!! Cheers, Billy in Canada
I’d be lying if I said it didn’t cross my mind!
Was a little nervous for y'all with the cows! Praying for your friend and his family and all that knew him! That is so sad to hear!
Fortunately it all went well with the cow. Thank you very much for your prayers.
My thoughts and prayers to the family. Good looking calves and I don’t like crazy cows neither its still hard to get rid of them tho with they raise good calves. Keep farming
Thank you very much. It was hard to sell her but it was time.
We have all been there. She earned this!
Yep! We still have one of her daughters. So far she’s not crazy. She’s due to have a calf later this year so maybe she will be alright. She sure is a pretty heifer!
@@FarmerHunt Yes sir. I have done the same thing, just hoping that dad's attitude fills in a little more than mom's.
Tractor running at full revs ... all that noise ... I would be pissed off as well 🐮🐮🐮 (I was born and bred on a dairy farm 67 years ago) Problem cattle became next months meat supply. Take care guys, some of these girls don't play fair. Been there, got that T-shirt 🤣🤣🤣 Love from the U.K.
😂😂 Thanks! We were glad to see this one go.
Crazy head high cows go to the sale barn here too...life’s too short for that stuff...
Agree 100%!
We live on a small farm in Ky. I am a retired machinist. We have had pretty good luck with chickens. We just fenced in 8 acres and have been working on getting the pasture ready. A guy on a nearby farm had a cow for sale that would not let her first calf nurse so we got a good deal on her. She is not a friendly cow and I really don’t trust her. I don’t have any experience with cattle so your video was a eye opener. We were thinking about having her bread back in June but I am not sure now if this would be a good idea. She might be headed to the butcher this fall. LOL
Sometimes when they get bred and have a calf they will calm down. Other times they go the other way. If she’s all by herself I’d recommend getting another cow to go with her. A lot of times being alone can make them act crazy
I'm glad u sold that cow. I love the cows and videos Gadsden guy
Thanks! She raised a good cow but not worth the trouble. We raised one of her heifers and she had a calf in the fall. Luckily, she doesn’t act like her mama did
Nothing like having fun hahahaha hahahaha she likes to play
haha yeah she played around a little too much!
Our cow have been out every day
We had calves out at 2 different pastures today. Hard to keep some of those jokers in
Dang! We have had/have mean cows, but they always calm down and they never ran us out of the pen unless we were messing with their calf. At least we could get in the pen and move them around. I do have to say, get yourselves some sorting sticks. Good stout ones. Then when a calf/yearling challenges you, like the red tagged calf, you can smack them HARD on the side of the nose. Make sure it is the nose and not the top of the head, they can ignore that. Notice I didn't say do that to the cow. If you miss the nose or aren't fast enough with the stick ......ummm yeah, not pretty. 🤔🥺
we’ve never had one like her before. We’ve had them get upset if we catch their calves to tag or work them, but never charge us for being around them.
We have some paddles and sticks we use. We just don’t usually have that part in the videos 😂😂
Yes gentlemen that cow defiantly as a broken spring in her head. The meat will most likely be tuff . Best thing to do no one should get hurt by a crazy one like that.
Yes, she wasn’t quite right. We process a lot of beef but didn’t want to process her.
My dad got really hurt when a crazy cow acted well...crazy. She went pretty soon after that. And we had an unbelievable crazy heifer. She even tried to escape from the trailer while driving. She tried to attack us and her fellow cows. Big relieve when she went on her way. She was simply scary. So. Quite right to sell this one.
Very sorry to hear that. Those crazy ones can definitely be dangerous. We have one of her heifers that is bred. So far she is not crazy. If she gets that way after she has a calf she’ll be headed out as well.
Good deal she needs to be eaten. It makes it hard to buy from a sale barn sometimes because I have ended up with a few like that. Back to the barn they go.
So she will be sold as beef? Like cull cows section?
She ended up selling as a bred cow
@@FarmerHunt Woa
Cole and Brian Sonne call those crazy cows Karen. LOL
Haha that’s the perfect name for them
🙏🏿🙏🏿
So the cow name is crazy cow
😂😂
Why didn't you two guys load them right in the first place
How so?
What state are you from? I’m from El DownSouth Illinois and my name is PennySharp.
We both grew up in Georgia but now we live in Alabama.
@@FarmerHunt What part of Alabama? I am in Lawrence County up in North Alabama.
i had that happen to me . The one that attacked me was labled as a "Freemartin" by the farm superintendant . Which is from what i understand a female "looking" animal that has reabsorbed male hormones from a early in uterus death of a male twin . Which winds up acting like a bull 🐃 🤷♀️
Because of that issue is the reason I only buy young heifers to raise so I can friendly them up
We actually bought her as an open heifer. She was registered simangus. She produced a great calf, she just wanted to kill anybody that got near her calf.
She acts like a Brahma or a Brangus
That was the best thing to do is get rid of her before she messes up some of your others in ways
@@FarmerHunt Look at the bright side, she was theft protection. NO ONE was getting into the pen to steal a calf!
What do you call a cow with no legs Ground beef
😂😂 What do you call a 3 legged cow? Lean Beef
Is she older
She was born in 2015.
Did your friend have a jab?
Crazy makes great hamburger.
Sure does! I’ll be thinking about her next time I’m mid ribeye
Reminds me of how human livestock are handled when we don't conform or comply with the human farmers.
The fear of her teaching the other cows to stand their ground and not live in fear has her heading to her death to keep the others in line.
Not sure it’s a livestock thing. I believe it’s an animal thing.
It isn't training it's temperament. Cattle have a pecking order with dominant cows bullying and bossing around less aggressive cows. Cows like her are bossy by nature and have learned that they can bully people as well as other cows. As for the other cows living in fear: They have no idea where that cow is headed and they don't care! Not one of those other cows will look for her or even notice.
She's angry because of the way you were treating her. I've never seen you treat any that way before.
Need horsemen homestead to sell you a trained cattle dog . He knows how to train them and his dogs get r done on camand .
Cattle dogs would be nice. Maybe one day!
She want her reparations
Hamburger? Nah, one of your neighbors will see that GF on her shoulder and think they’ve hit a jackpot deal, and get her “cheap.”
They’ll be talking about her at the Waffle House.
😂😂 You may be right. We tried to sell her to a couple people we know but didn’t have any takers. Maybe she will make somebody else a good cow
"I see that crazy in her eyes" Yep that is how I avoid most women today.
😂😂
God forbid a cow wanting to say bye to her calf..... yes I eat there meat. But still.
This was a little more than that. She would charge you if you were walking in the pasture anywhere near her calf. Our kids like to walk in the pasture sometimes. She had to go
You 2 are chickens.
I'd like to see you get in a pen with her
Why are you guy not working those cattle with dogs....much easyer
I don't disagree. We don't have a cattle dog though.
Judydruetto
How cruel.
You guys don't look like a rancher's
We are farmers. What should we look like?
@@FarmerHunt You should be 60 plus, slightly overweight and wearing overalls (looks in mirror)
Why don't you have a horse it will be easier
Would have been more trouble than it was worth to use a horse
