Jon Batiste is an exceptional human being. His relationship with his piano makes me feel like I’m watching two best friends laughing, horsing around, crying, or just enjoying the view together. And I feel privileged to be able to witness their love for each other.
The depth of his emotion and artistry often fills me with awe and a sense of wonder. It would take more than a few lifetimes to peel away the last of his beautiful layers.

Jon Batiste's final acceptance speech at the Grammy was so intelligent, heartfelt and articulate. Wow, he won me over and I am a granny from Australia. Kind regards, Miriam 🌼
I know that you meant well but if he were white, would you have mentioned that his speech was " intelligent and articulate "?? It's always funny to Black people when we run across the unintentional racist. We all know them. They don't even know that they're racist but as soon as they open they're mouths, we know they are.

I knew of his greatness long before the masses. I'm not surprised he won the best grammy to be awarded. Yes indeed. You move me John. Best wishes to you and your wife!!!!
The harmony seems to tell a different, contrasting story to the lyrics that really deepens the power and meaning of this for me. And it wouldn't be the same without that repeating note, always there, underneath. Amazing.
Now that I'm hearing this song one more time, I'm feeling this rythm like the clock beat counting seconds. Nobody can stop time, but it's the way how we see life that changes the quality of present moment and memories.
I really love this depiction of nuns, because it's more true to what I remember from my great aunt. She was so open and loving. And though she was too old for basketball, we'd always play board games or she'd tell us stories about her mission trips to South America. She was so happy when my cousins and I started taking Spanish because she spoke it fluently.
This song has always been one of my favorites, and this interpretation of it is neck and neck with Louis Armstrong's in my book. The mood of the music feels so reflective and contemplative, as if sitting in the center of the universe and taking in the realization of my existence and the existence of all life. What a wonderful world it is

I'm from Virginia, though I lived in CA for 11 years. KD are my initials, Rose is my maternal family name, my married name is on Linked in, but I go by KD Rose anywhere online. I try to spot what I consider brilliance in all fields and all kinds of ways. Have a special love for music, though haven't done that one in awhile. I know you can turn it on, off, sideways, serious, ethereal, and any way you want! Your social music is getting the accolades you deserve. I know there is all kinds of other stuff in there too. 🙂 It all interests me; it's all genius.
Tonight, with fireworks, NY celebrated a 70% vaccination rate, and a return to normal, pre-covid, unrestricted business operations. The fireworks ended, and THIS video popped up in my feed. Thank you, Jon Baptiste. This is indeed a wonderful world. 🎇 🌎 🌴 🌹 💕
I love the way Bastiste shows New Orleans' it is such a majestic place and full of culture.
