Do you know if Bev and Dell were Gardies? I assumed they were lexies and that was the first blush of wicca here. Rather than the Gardie line being eclipsed by the popularity of the farrars afterwards. Thatd be interesting.

I really have no idea. I always thought that it was Gardinian that first came here as I assumed that the more well to do in Irish society would have chosen it in the 40's. I am not familiar with the history of Wicca in Ireland to be honest.

@@seantwomey-nr4qt ah ok. I think you mightve been right just out of good luck anyway. I have this memory of Bev being "at the mill" with Sanders. I chased it up and the mill was Gardners spot.
Bev saying that mightve meant that he was initiated around the same time as Sanders. Rather than being initiated by him as a lexie. Which makes sense since if he had any airs about him they were sean nos ones. He was an unassuming guy rather than a bragging leadership type.
I think Cork has or had a gardie group before the lockdowns. Sophia/Boann used to run a pagan moot in cork city. Shes big into her trad culture as well.
But its a transplant. Boann only came back into the country in the 2010s so the rest of the moots etc are Lexie run. Tho I dont know if they still exist either.

@ByrneMJames I'm more solitary for the past few years. I had a coffee with Luke Eastwood of Pagan Ireland Magazine recently and he suggested that I get onto the Cork Pagan Moot. I might find out more there.

@@seantwomey-nr4qt Ah I went to one of Lukes talks at the feile. He seemed nice. He could have a point as well, if its the moot run by Sophia/Boann itll be good natured and chilled. If its still running theres probably no better spot to dip your toes into.
If you hear that its still going. Let me know. I used to go to the moots a lot but I havent been to one in Cork since I moved down from jackeen land. Itd be interesting to see what the mooters are like. Corks a very artistic and open spot.
