We also get to see colourful scenes of other colliery banners and brass bands at the 137th ‘Big Meeting’ - and how nobody allows the rainstorm to spoil the celebrations!
Wonderful memories of a fantastic event
Yes the mines are long closed down, but our struggle for a fair and just society continues. Workers of all lands unite.

Come rain or shine the Gala goes on. Nice to see everyone there.
My grandad John willie Lee worked at horden my late husband David finley also worked at horden pit my great uncle Frank planet was killed at horden pit before I was born my dad uncle also played a trumpet for crook brass band when I have been to durham miners gala it's just a day for rembering all the loved ones who have passed away over the years I will always rambert them
