    I remember thinking Amar was one of the best players in Sacramento about 10 years ago. Then I played Tony at Hard Times. Had two shots in a race to 7. He never missed a ball, literally. Tony is the best cueman since Reyes. Also, he's a really nice guy, very humble at the table, and willing to help an aspiring young player. Thank you for everything Tony.

    5:08 one of the best pool shots I've ever seen. Period. Jumps over the stack to kick to a ball that's maybe a ball and and half's width away from the cushion, and makes it in the opposite corner. WHAT! Insane. I'll never be able to do that.

    • @tommymcsorley4045
      @tommymcsorley4045 Před rokem

      Best shot imo at 0:51. Cue ball hanging over the pocket and he bank the nineball caroming it off the red stripe into the pocket all while playing the perfect amount of following to play one rail leaving it safe on the side rail near the other guys pocket had he missed the shot. Had like 5 things to do all insanely hard and he executed it all perfectly. The most pure part of a good one pocket player is the confidence to leave safe so that he can fire away at shots like Tony shoots and not be reckless

      @@Tryo707 Maybe you missed my previous comment thanking Daniel and the team and my question comes after three times of watching this vid. As an avid 1P fan, I believe I have the right to ask the question as rules in US can differ such as only fouls on the object and cue ball, hence this may not have been a foul anyway....but thanks for taking he time to try and label me without one care to find out more about why I asked. Happy to settle this over a beer and game of 1P if I am ever in your town or you find yourself in Amsterdam, NL. Happy shootin'

    • @creedolala6918
      @creedolala6918 Před 5 lety +2

      to answer your question... this is actually something that is changing in USA pool. Up until recently, most tournaments and money matches were played with the rule called 'cue ball fouls only'. That rule means accidentally nudging balls with your bridge hand, cue, etc. isn't a foul... unless the nudge moves the cue ball.
      If the nudged ball moves a significant amount, the players usually just handle it informally. They either put it back where it was, or the seated player gets the choice of leaving it in the new position, if that helps him.
      This is how USA players handle nudged balls in all games, not just 1-pocket. Whereas in Europe, moving any ball accidentally is always a foul.
      Lately, just the past few years, it seems like USA tournaments are getting more strict about this and treating accidental nudges as fouls. A famous example is the most recent US Open. Watch the last 3-4 minutes of the finals, Wu Jiaqing vs. Josh Filler.
      1-pocket, I don't know if the same trend is happening. In general it's a game that is played more for money matches than for tournaments, and in money matches... the 2 players decide which rules they want to use.

    • @gethindavies
      @gethindavies Před 5 lety +1

      @@creedolala6918 Thanks for the reply and detailed information. Here in Europe, any nudging of balls, even touching of clothes on a ball without it moving constitutes a foul hence the question. Happy shootin'
