The reason I think this weapon feels nice is because the red dot sits so high up above the gun frame that you can see it for a longer time than a usual hand cannon due to the recoil.
Yes on top of a solid aim assist stat. Feels very open and visible!

if you have the "broken bird to be healed" ornament on Austringer it has a similar kind of look to what you're describing

Spare is just one of those guns that feels special. Forsaken era weapons just had some secret sauce to them that Bungie has really struggled to replicate.
Bungie scared to make meta weapons. But when they do introduce a Gem it gets abused and then nerfed (or entire archetype gets hit like Aggressive SMGs thanks to Immortal). Bungie needs to make everyone be competitive. I legit can't take specific weapons into rumble and do well with them. I even tried to be a scumbag today and used Vex Mythoclast and I kept getting shit on by Target Lock Immortal Titans
@@ABlackGuyAdept Gonna be honest, the -10 range on aggressive frames does jack shit. Target lock is still a massive issue thats needs to be carefully addressed to avoid nuking the perk into oblivion. I'm thinking to treat it like vorpal weapon where it does different percentages of damage based on weapon type (prime special heavy). Maybe hitting the archetype again with a precision damage nerf from 22 - 20. But idk, something gotta be done with SMGs, you just can't compete against them most times.

@@sphinxoforion7422 I mean they did alter the TTK a little, not just the -10 to range. But it's barely noticeable and you still get shredded. Rumble is full of even more sweats right now farming the double exp rumble glitch and 4/5 opponents are running 100% god roll Immortals.
@@v-7815 It's not like other handcannons don't have similar aim assist lol. Eyasluna has 85, Fatebringer has 84, an Pali has 79. Most others fall in the mid low 70's, so they also get 80+ aim assist with a targeting perk. Then if you factor in things like moving target (+10aa while ads) or rangefinder (which extends aa falloff distance), other handcannons really are not at a significant aa disadvantage compared to Spare.

I have come back to say, I was correct, spare feels amazing and the range is also great
Losing to rose while coping that spare is better is actually poetic
I also have a 4/5 spare- small bore, ricochet rounds, slid shot, opening shot, and stability masterwork and it feels amazing as hell here on console
Honestly, on controller a stability masterwork may feel better than a range one

The problem is not that hand cannons are low range, they are not. The problem is that pulses have too much range and they make it hard for hand cannon users to close the distance. At the same time you try to get out of smg range because they will destroy you up to 25 metres. Essentially there is no space to stand for hand cannons and auto rifles. But these changes next season with the upcoming zoom changes and I am sure we will see many more hand cannons and autorifles around.

The one I use most has Slideshot and Swashbuckler with a Handling Masterwork. I have another good one with Rapid Hit and Opening Shot, but they both have 56 Range. Still crispy as ever, great to have it back in the game.😁

I got full bore, armour piercing, slideshot and op with range mw and I love it I just wish the stats where better the stability is terrible😭
I've rolled easily 30 of these, so far, and haven't gotten a single slideshot opening shot roll yet, let alone one with good barrels and MW options.
The first role I got was swashbuckler slide shot Ricochet rounds and small-bore
Have had several Spare Rations this season, some good, some not so good, but even my best only has 56 Range. But it's still a fantastic Hand Cannon for PvP.
i honestly decided to go with the benny roll of rapid hit kill clip, and it feels nice for sure!

I have a underrated version of spareration with hammer forged, ricochet, slide shot , swashbuckler and range master work and I love it. Tbh I don't know why people hate so much on swashbuckler. Great video tho❤

was level 50 on the season pass before I got my first to drop :') , at least I had my og rapid hit/ rf that I never deleted in the meawhile
I thought this hand cannon was terrible until I got rapid hit opening shot with full bore and range masterwork. Sitting at 70 range I have terrible stability but I can still land shots very smoothly amd most hand cannons I can't see very well when I use em but I can see my reticle easy and land constant headshots. It's pretty expensive to farm but well worth investing into eventually u will get a good roll. Make sure u go for opening shot, rangefinder is getting worse so hand cannons with opening shot will be on top
I also got a 4/5. Got Armor Piercing instead of Ricochet, but I honestly don’t care. It feels sooooooo good
I have Moving Target and Opening Shot so with one targeting mod it’s 100 aim assist and feels AMAZING and doesn’t even seem to need stability. It’s a stability freak.
But at 52 or 56 range it’s just so frustrating sometimes. Opening Shot at 32 meters is pointless if you still need 3 more shots to finish. But I’ll keep going for the same roll with 60+ range because it feels SO good.

I have always found lightweight stuff to have wonky hit registration, which is probably why this feels better for you over Rose.
I like it. Feels crispy on console. Not Dire Promise levels of crisp but it’s nice.

Edit, btw the game gave me the exact roll you wanted but with kinetic tremors instead of opening shot. Range MW, fullbore, ricochet slideshot kinetic tremors. I'm so pissed at it.
I've just focused 10 and got 8 with tremors. The best so far is Snapshot/Swash, Hammer, HiCal and Range MW. Feels so snappy
Idk how many more deep dives i can do till i get a good roll, my friend got the roll first try and something inside of me snapped, i didn't care anymore i didn't care about being better than kakarot

Ppl say this about RF but I will tell you now it will end up being a buff rather than a NERF. Ppl are forgetting that range as a stat is getting reworked across the board for all weapons and the change they are giving RF are great (aim assistance, stability, accuracy). Don't follow the sheep 👍

The gun is a quality gun…it’s still very good…it’s just lacks a little range where Rose surpasses it along with it being a lightweight frame giving that extra boost of mobility. Still a very solid choice imo.

I have gotten a bunch of 4/5 rolls but the problem is not how the gun feels. The problem is the current pulse rifle meta and people just sitting back with pulse rifles. Try playing iron banner aka pussy banner with a hand cannon with the amount of people holding hands and using the messenger is nearly impossible to enjoy the spare or any hand cannon. 😢
How you do that when you close your hunter doesn't throw the knife? Because mine even if im standing in front of you throws the knife...and don't tell me about powered melee been there done that
