To Marlene Mc’Cohen. I don’t think I’m ever going to get over this. I lost Birdie in passing, my beloved African Grey baby of 24 years two days ago March 8, 330pm 2023. He had been losing weight and my vet recommended diagnostics at a university vet hospital with an avian specialist professor. I can now totally relate to what you said about vets and aggressiveness. It seemed to be all about getting barium in him and images and not about keeping him hydrated and cal ed in between with support measures in place as they should have been. As it turned out he had a shrunken live of which we are not sure if the cause. But before they released hi. to me he fell from cage for either weakness or remains of effects of anesthesia or sedatives and he injured and bled from the beak. The put glue on the beak which alarmed me. I couldn’t see and injury and I suspect it was at the tip inside. Idk. He didn’t look himself and looked dazed but did make a peep sound at my husband, So we began the 5 hr trip home with him in he cage. An hour down the road his beak began bleeding from hanging into side of the cage with it for support. That stressed the beak and bad it bleed a little. Before we could do anything he climbed down. .walked across bottom of cage to other side. Squared down, gripped the bottom of cage bars, placed his beak between horizontal bars for support and here’s his head back between the bars. He would not allow me to pick him up gently with towel. He went into shock, coma and died before we could return to hospital. I will never get over this. I bought him at 6 months old after I was disabled to bring me out of depression from my disability and I had always wanted a talking companion bird, He did not disappoint! He was pure joy for all of his 24 years. He spoke in my and husbands voices and communicated his wants and antics very well. Our house was always full of his comforting noises. I cam home to a deafeningly silent house. I didn’t realize how dependent I was all day every day of his presence and communication. All the next day was especially bad, I could almost hallucinate audibly his words and noises like a constant tape playing in my head. Losing cats and dogs is bad but no one can understand loss of a parrot except maybe another parrot owner. Our subconcience is in tune to them all day every single day we are with them. RIP Birdie June 1999-March 8, 2023 03:30PM 🦜
I'm so broken hearted for you💔
Sorry for your loss. I don’t know what I would do without my parrot. She got outside once and flew into a 30 foot tree that was surround by thorns. Fortunately, she flew back to me the next day. It’s the worst pain to feel like you loss your parrot. Almost like losing a piece of your soul so I understand.
Brando heard you…sounds the alarm 🚨!! 🤣😂🤣😂🤣 🦜 💕 Little Spicy!
She is so aware of everything!!
There’s just something about the intro that just makes me so emotional and tear up every time I hear it. It’s just so heart melting that even George the African gray was included in the intro somehow and that really shows how important and missed he still really his 💔💔(the audio of the intro is him talking for those who don’t know)
Yaaaaay finally a new video
I LOVE the gorgeous fashionista, Jersey's, "jersey"........❣❣❣
Would love lots of shorts of Vinny (w/subtitles)❣️❗️❣️ Love, love, love❣️ PS❗️ Do you watch Gizmo the Grey? If you don’t, you just have to! He is a great communicator, and just gets better and better. He sat in a cage for 16 years before he was adopted by his now folks only in April of last year. Then he more spoke in «loose words», but after getting there and having been set free from the cage and gotten more and more safe, he speaks more and more, in proper sentences and he uses his words for communication and for humour! He is SOOO funny! He is a must see for sure! 💓🦜💓🤗
Brando is so cute💚
Isn't she just such a little diva bird
Sounded lik Brando was laughing at you every time you said it was time for bed. Lol
:) i love them all
Me too!! They are so much fun
Hey Marlene what happened to the channel? Just wondering because you stopped posting as much. I loved watching and recently was thinking about you and your channel.
"I'm living in a box" has to be Vinny\s favorite song. 😅

I miss your videos , please come back 😢
Hi Marlene, your my favorite bird person. It's been a while and you have quite a few additions to your flock. I'm alone since the sudden death of my Sulphur Crested Cockatoo Simera.
Barry, I am so sorry for your loss. I lost my lesser sulfur crested cockatoo after 34 years this past summer. I now have rescued an umbrella cockatoo and an African gray.
I'm so sorry for your loss, I know how heartbreaking that is!! I hope you can open your life to a rescue one day. Not everyone can handle a Cockatoo
I'm so sorry for your loss as well, it really is so hard to lose a bird
So sorry for your losses, Barry & Cynthia❣️ 💔💓💞💓💞💔
I didn't know AmazonSmile was ending. I was supporting that parrot rescue you did a video about, about in Colorado I think? I am terribly disappointed just because it was the perfect way for me to donate painlessly. Now I worry about all the little animal rescues that got support that way. What a bummer. 😿
I LOVED this video
BTW.
Marlene, my bird is a cockatiel. He is very territorial and I’ve been having trouble with him. He was not always like that. He was a fairly friendly bird but still a little aggressive if you did something wrong. Then we started placing him in a small travel cage once a day so he could sit outside and look at the other birds. The anger started then. I’m not sure why. He didn’t like being grabbed, but sometimes we had to gently hold him like that so we could get him out of the small travel cage. Maybe he became aggressive towards us because we grabbed him like a predator might, even if it was very gently. Then my mum suggested he might be happier if we moved his flight cage outside. However, I have had previous birds who lived outside and they flew away and most likely are not alive anymore, but my mum thought he’d be happier out there, but mostly she doesn’t like the seed. So we had to move him outside. I’m nervous about my decision to get a bird because perhaps I’m not the right person for one if my parents don’t like having one inside. Anyway, now my bird lives outside and is acting aggressive still. You can’t put your finger through the bars without getting nipped a little, and I can’t open the cage without him attempting to come out. I’d like to move him back inside so I can take him out without fear and I can try to start the beginning, but my parents won’t let me, because they think the seed is too messy, even if I clean it up. So now I’m kind of stuck. I would like some advice. Should I get an aviary, the expensive kind with two doors so the bird won’t get out when you enter? Or how do I convince my parents to let me move my bird inside? I’m not ready to give up on him yet.
😊😊
Jersey is such a lil sweetheart
Hi very nice video
Try a Avian lamp to help stop plucking feathers. Also, they're bonded to you and you're leaving them too long.
I miss these kind of vids from you🥲
Hi there!
I bring home a budgie and named him goofie it’s been 2 weeks now and it’s wings were clipped when I bought it. He still so scared of us (me and my husband). I tried so many things but nothing worked. I really want him to trust me and love me because I love him so much. I am tensed now please advise me

Normally when it comes to my birds ( 2 macaw & a lovebird ) I can fix every problem, but the latest is so hard, we raised bigbie he loved his dad..Aaron died 6 weeks ago and bigbie is plucking, I now know what a macaw crying sounds like my heart is broken, bigbies heart is broken ..even Barney wants to look in the door to check if he got home yet, Aaron would be delighted to know Barney is missing him, he was working very hard to win barney's trust in 7 months we didn't think he had made much progress, but Barney is also missing him like mad..the bird community needs to start sharing any tips for helping a stressed grieving macaw, he doesn't get out to fly as much since Aaron's death he is free flight trained and I worry that's causing extra stress it would be cool to pull on experience of birds who's owners found stuff that helped ..
Will do, i had that with picasso after geor died. I'll work on it
@MARLENE MC'COHEN thanks Marlene, it's so hard on all but I probably wouldn't get out of bed if I didn't have our birds, flying gave us both so much joy it still fills my heart it's about to be spring in Ireland so I'll be able to get bigbie out to fly more I'm hoping that will also help..flying relives his stress ..tysm its a hard one cos ppl are hurting so don't want to share about it at the time..once they've had a minute they feel better sharing...I could say his name today without crying..its something.
🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
Is it safe to get an African Grey in summer season ?
Please help. I recently adopted a 4 month old African. It's been a week now but it always makes agressive noise anytime I get close, it runs from me, I have tried many methods to calm him down but none has worked yet. Please I need solutions
Good lord, PLEASE don't lose any birds ~ ya gotta make sure the dogs CAN'T OPEN THE DOOR ~ change the door handle, please. And your brother SHOULD KNOW BETTER to check All doors and windows 🤔🙄💖
Just add a little bolt lock (don’t know what you call them, but when I googled «bolt door lock, they showed lots of them) high up on the inside, that’ll stop the dog from opening the door… 🤗
@@lottatroublemaker6130 I didn't think about that, 💖
Are you keeping the dog you rescued ? I hope so 😊

Nice to see you back. You have a new dog? What happened to Sandy? Yeah birds should never be left unsupervised with cats. But hey you know your cat and birds I don't.
She still has Sandy! She posted a video about this dog, she is fostering it save it from being euthanized.
Was that Leo talking? Around the corner.
Is African Grey good for first time bird keeper ?
It's not ideal for a novice pet owner because it is high maintenance, need a lot of space, they are brilliant and need lots of simulation.
Oh Danny, you're in trouble, fella.
Very much so, lol
Does anyone else feel like Vinny is a man that got turned into a bird by some powerful being or is a robot sent by the F.B.I. or is it just me?
Vinny is cool bird of the gang ❤️💕🤍❤️❤️💕🤍🤍❤️❤️❤️🤍💕❤️❤️💕🤍💕❤️❤️❤️🤍💕❤️💕💕🤍💕💕💕❤️🤍🤍💕❤️💕❤️❤️💕
Hi Lauren, so happy to see you here
@@MARLENEMCCOHENof course ❤❤❤
umm marlene have you got any news about abby and paco...?its been a year now..
It's a bit of an odd question, but I was looking for the names of two pieces of music used in Parrot Station contents, specifically :
Vinny's "theme"(heard when he attacks)
& the music in Leo's campaign video
Thank you very much indeed in advance
Edit : I'd ask Marlene&Co. via e-mail, but I fear the inquiry could result inappropriate, since the box is meant for business inquiries...
Marlene, I know of a 25-30 year old Congo gray that is in need of a good home. If I paid to fly her to you, would you consider taking her? She is not very loud, but plucks and has not gotten as much attention as she needs. Please let me know your thoughts.
I have to cockatiels name smoky and gray smoky is the drama queen and gray he’s the baby in the house and he’s also a quite bird 🎉

Oscar
I wander why the birds have lost alot of feathers? Doesn't that mean stress and or lack of care. Is that why the poor birds in clothes idk. This is the first video I seen of her.
Be at ease : she's a _rescue_ ;}
You should see the story about Jersey then. It's on the playlists
who else thinksthat shes lovley and all (god bless her)❤but she shouldnt have cats with birds and a jumpy dog near birds
Pure birds are plug out the feather 😢
On your list of birds, where is Blue his not on there.
Bc Blu went back to his owner for a time. Marlene prob hasn’t redone the CZcams wording and is busy with the feathered friend boxes, etc.🪶💙
So true, you got that correct, i need to update so much
Marlene I saw videos short today view in a wedding dress and your mom and sister were there so what's the deal I thought you weren't George were already married
I need job

Your birds are so cute in your profile
@@MARLENEMCCOHEN thanks 😊
Have you found picasso?
Great way to lose your parrots, death by dog or out the door.
The dog is great with the birds or I would not keep him in the house. The other lucky thing is that Rocky is used to chilling outside with us, but yes any other bird could have flown out in this situation.
I don't want to be that person.... that nitpicks everything. But this video showed some alarming things. There were birds out of their cages without supervision in a house with a cat. I don't care what anyone says, cats should never be left alone with birds. Rocky can handle himself mostly, but even he shouldn't be left out alone with a cat. Let alone tiny Brando and Blue. And the door not being secured? How did that happen? The dog shouldn't be left alone with the tiny birds either. All animals need supervision when put together. Yeah... you can go years without incident.... but it only takes that one time, that one moment, and you lose a life. I'm really shocked about this. Marlene has always, i thought, been really careful with things. But I guess her rules have gotten softer over time? I don't know. She could have easily lost Blue and Brando there. I still haven't gotten over Picasso. So I'm just shocked at how out of control this seems to have gotten. I get it's just a quick video randomly. But I personally think that this is not ok. I don't know. I don't want to be a keyboard warrior or some troll. I have never commented negatively on their videos before this. I just worry that this is showing an example to people that is irresponsible. You can have multiple species living under one roof. That's fine. But to have them have access to each other while not being supervised, is never ok. Regardless of how much you "trust" your animals. An animal is an animal. And they will react like an animal. This is not good.
I’m sure Marlene was upset and reevaluating right away. It was worrying though, but no one analyzes and reanalyzes again and again like Marlene where her babies are concerned.❤
You did hear that her brother was there to watch the animals. It wasn't Marlene . She just got home. I think you may have to evaluate the situation. This was one incident when she was gone for 3 days. And all she did was turn her video on to record.
Take a second look and listen to what happened.
Maybe you should post on her brother's channel and shame him for being bad.
She just didn't explain to the audience that this was a single incident. . . So simmer down you don't know what really happened. The video was just to get the birds reactions.
Also even if there is supervision you can have an accident between species . You can't be a helicopter mom . Life has it's accidents and taking calculated risk is ALWAYS part of EVERYONE'S life. Even yours .
@@liisabjork76 I heard the video. I know they just got home. It's even the title of the video. I'm bringing this up because this video shouldn't have been posted. There's so many videos and pictures out there, showcasing poor or irresponsible pet keeping. Like cats in reptile tanks and owners thinking it's cute or tiktok worthy. It's not. People learn from pet CZcamsrs all the time. Showcasing poor care is not good for the audience or the animals. I know Marlene is very capable. That's why I follow her channel, and have for years. But I think this video is doing more harm than good. I'm not one to stay silent if I think something is wrong. I am not in her life. I do not know her circumstances. But I do know, as an audience member, how this video is viewed by other audience members. And it's not a good look. There are multiple issues showcased in this short clip. I understand your point. And if this was the brother's channel, I would have adjusted the tone of my comment accordingly as he is directly responsible for it. But, this is Marlene's video on Marlene's channel that gets quite a lot of views. It is showing the wrong ideas. And yes, accidents happen even when supervised. Except when you're supervising, you can atleast react swiftly to reduce harm and/or stop it. If you're not around, you can't do anything. And an animal will suffer the consequences of those actions. I care about animals. And this video is showing actions that have put their safety at risk.
@@liisabjork76 What is her brother’s channel?
