Definitely is beautiful. Would not want a wedding there but I am sure there is a story to go with that!

Beautiful! Hey guys, get some trekking poles. I bought a pair and never walk or hike without them. Stabilize and prevent falls! Enjoyed it! Sure crowded but worth the view!

A couple of years ago we visited all the national parks in Utah. Zion was our least favorite because of the crowds and having to use the shuttle system. We had the same experience with parking. Bryce Canyon was our favorite national park in Utah.

Wow sorry for all that frustration you went through! Thank you for sharing that so we know what to expect. I don't think I would have been happy either. It sure was beautiful though!

I am so sorry your trip to Zion was a bit frustrating but you guys did make the best of it. We drove by Zion 2 years ago and had thought about stopping but we had the 5th wheel, knew we couldn't park it anywhere so we just kept driving. And during that hike, I was giving you guys kudos for being able to navigate the crowds and complete your hike. I know that I probably would have fallen at least once and it would have been like bowling, with me being the bowling ball and taking out several others with me. Plus I'm not sure about the hike back! Stop #9 seemed like the perfect place to recoop (wedding was neat in the background) And you are so right about things changing lately.. morals, respect and courtesy are sometimes difficult to find these days. Your tips are great and looking forward to your next video

Thanks for taking the time to watch. We did end up having a good day, even with all the struggles. But honestly, any time I get to spend with my wife makes it a good day! Alec

Great video and perfect timing! We were planning to hit Zion in the next few days but think we’ll put that off until later in the year. We did the shuttle at the Grand Canyon with certain stops on the way up & different stops on the way down. We have found the National Monuments more enjoyable and less crowded. Appreciate you sharing your experience.

I love Zion (especially on the lesser beaten (literally) paths)! Started going there in the 80's (when there were hardly any other visitors there) and last visit was a couple years back - what a difference (in crowds) 40 years make! Still love it though since I've hit the "must dos" long ago and can now just enjoy the out-of-the-way beautiful spots/hikes. Bikes are the way to go in Zion now-a-days. State Hwy 9 goes through the park so they have to let people pass through...

Got it. Visit Zion way off peak. Late fall or early spring 🤷🏼‍♂️. Maybe Late April or late October.

A quick internet search yields the following for most visited National Parks: 1. Smokey Mtn NP 2. Grand Canyon NP 3. Zion NP.
Yes, bad time of year to visit.
PS: You should have taken the 89 to 389 out of PageAZ. Scenic and avoid Vegas.

The key is to be there by 730 and that’s normal after 830 you parking outside usually happens after mar or April.

We went 10 years ago and no shuttle, ample parking, but more people are coming. Hopefully people will have less kids in the future.

3:08 mark: This is already a hard pass for me. Lol. If I ever go there, it will be in the shoulder or off season, and that says a lot since I absolutely hate cold weather. Lol.
17:06 mark: WTH? That looks like a line at an amusement park! No thanks! 🤮 Don't get me wrong. The geology is fascinating and I would love to see it in person. Just not during the busy time of year. 😬
23:28 mark: You can. You just have to go in the off seasons. Then you better be ready for snow and ice at any time, and make sure you have a PLB. 🙄

The crowds were crazy ... some trails so busy you had to wait in line.

What do you mean when you stated making a reservation to the park? What time of year was this trip?

    • @SHARINGJOURNEY
      @SHARINGJOURNEY  Před měsícem

In 2022 Glacier require you to make a reservation for when you were going to be allowed in the park ... this was to keep the # of people in the park manageable. I am not sure if they are still doing it.
