    Noticed how not much has been said about their wet weather handling capabilities. These Michelin’s are worth the extra cost just for their ability to maintain traction and steerage when raining heavy or puddles are encountered.
    After factoring in the additional mileage, Michelin tires are not that much more expensive than other brands. I would recommend them for anyone who who travels predominantly on the highway.

    I've run the transforce HT2's plenty of times and then switched to the Michelins. The firestones won't come apart on you or anything like that. BUT...the HT2's will wear out so fast it is surprising. The michelins may cost a bit more but in my opinion it's a longer lasting and better quality tire.

    • @LoadMizer
      @LoadMizer  Před 3 lety

      My initial impression of the HT2’s so far is a noticeable ride quality difference. These things are rough compared to the Michelins and they pick up a ton of rocks.

      I didn’t run the firestones long but one thing I noticed about them that I didn’t like at all was that they were a rock magnet and couldn’t throw them the save their life. Terrible tires for picking up rocks. Those Michelin’s threw them out as soon as they picked them up. Go with the Michelin’s.

    This was exactly what I was looking for in a review. I have a 2017 F350 with the factory Michelin’s on that are about done! It’s gonna hurt the pocket book but I am going to pull the trigger on these tires. What do you think about the factory tires on any vehicle being made out of really soft rubber where they don’t last longer than 20k + miles? Car or truck, this seems to be the case! Thanks again!!!!

    • @LoadMizer
      @LoadMizer  Před 3 lety

      Hey no problem man! I think it’s odd that the same truck coming from the same factory can have different sets of tires lol. I’m sure they get massive discounts on a particular brand and style. They’re most likely made for speed production instead of longevity. Seems to be my experience with lost factory tires. Some are top notch and some are terrible.

Im sure I could get a little more out of them but I don't like to roll the dice. I was considering the HT2's as an option but will look at the michelins. Any opinion on making a switch from the 235 80 17 that's on it to a 245 75 17? I see the load rating is a little higher.

    I have run many of tires. But the only one that never gave me problems was a Michelin!
    All other tire companies dream of becoming a Michelin!
    I don't know if I have driven as many miles as you but I have racked up allot!
    You might want to look at their Michelin XPS truck tires. They are crazy good!
    I hit a pipe that took a chunk out of the tire and drove on the tire for 2 more years!
    The only problem is that the tire will last so long that the side walls will dry rot before the tread wears out!!! :(

    • @LoadMizer
      @LoadMizer  Před 3 lety +1

      That sounds like a problem you want to have! Haha. I don’t think they’d last that long pulling continuous freight on a daily basis but tires are a big piece of an annual maintenance fund and getting the most out of them is extremely important. Especially when people start adding vehicles and creating a fleet.

      @@LoadMizer I use to run over Donner summit. Way overloaded... don't tell anyone will you? The Pothole freeway of the world. I got over 90k on Michelin XPS LT235/85R16. They don't SWAY much as the regular LTX tires... Because they are a full steel casing like a semi tires. You'll be shocked you will also get 2-6 mpg more than the standard LTX tires. If you ever feel as you going down a freeway and your truck sways... the wind get you? These tires will keep you on the straight road. Especially when your overloaded... or reaching your max. You know we would never do that? Then a neighbor wanted them... he ran them for 5 more years...he could not & did not believe me they were worth the money! And yes the tires were dry rotted on the side wall... eee... In his words they are as day & night. I also run them on all my trailers. One tire fits all.

      @@LoadMizer It will save you a lot of money in the long run. Plus allot safer. If you have 17" it is better to run 16" because you have much more shock absorption on the potholes & development from M. And not I don't me Pot Heads Holes Sales in CA. At one point I will proble goto 19.5" skipping all the rest sizes rims. Why they went to 17" 18" 20"I will never know? The larger rim size don't offer the shock absorption But the 19.5" Michelins have been out for along time. So they are well rounded too. I have done alot of research on this.

    • @LoadMizer
      @LoadMizer  Před 3 lety +1

      For the price point the 350 and 450 are very similar as far as construction goes. The ram differences are huge, different frame, axle, brakes etc. really the biggest benefit of the 450 is the turning radius and I think you get what...an extra 500 pounds on the rear axle? It’s not a major difference but the price reflects that as well. I’m actually in the middle of comparing all of these different models right now. That’s what I’ve learned so far but I haven’t gotten to Ford yet either.
