Always fun going through old phones... cleaning them, resetting them. Charity shops are a good place to get them. Let me know what you think! :) #Apple #iPod #Phone
For the white iPhone try these: 1. The battery may have too low charge to turn on even connected. Try connecting to a 10W charger for a couple of hours (2-3h). It may kick in. 2. If it doesn't. Try disconnecting the battery tab from the main board and plugging in a charger. If it turns on without battery and starts boot looping it probably is okay and the battery is dead. Cheers!
3:34 You're in luck with that one, not only it's an iPod Mini, but it's a 2nd gen one, considered one of the easiest iPods to mod to larger storages since it uses a HDD pinout similar to Compact Flash and can be expanded to a whoping 256GB. Not sure if you're interested on getting into iPods and changing the storage and battery, but it's a very nifty compact portable player.
@@windowsfan95 I'm sure it was meant as cheek, as the way Elliott put it, Sony released the walkman and Apple decided to go against it some 20 years later
"The Sony Walkman came out and then shortly after that the iPod was released." Just glossing over 21 years, nothing to see here! Just made me almost inhale my sandwich as you said it.
I felt the same thing was eating crisps. I even had to google how old the walkman is since it was in all those metal gear games (period specific tech was in it)
A lot of newer Android phones, like circa 2016 and later, can emulate a ton of retro stuff. Could be useful for that. I'm pretty sure there's a market for old iPods too. The mini like you have in this video and the classic from your first phone bag you could probably repair and make a profit on.
Hello, Elliot, You can get an universal lipo clip-on charger with adjustable prongs for about 5 dollars from eBay like I did. The one with the LCD. That charger even detects the correct polarity. I use it almost every day and I always have it in my backpack as my old phone collection grows bigger and bigger. It helps me decide to buy a charger for the phone I have bought or not. If it does not work then I am not going to spend more money on it until I have fixed it.
those sony experias are great phones, i had the one that came with the box. came out in 2019 so fairly new, works a charm note: i dont have it anymore so i cant speak to longjevity but when i had it it was good
This reminds me of my phone history( I am old) I had the Nokia's 3000s at the start of the 21st century then moved onto the Sony Ericsson system and had tons of accessories and chargers for them from Bluetooth headphone adapter to a GPS headphone adaptor, most stupid thing about them if you couldn't find a full size adaptor the tiny 2 port power adapter for accessories would fit as they only used 2 of the contacts to charge the rest were for headphones and data use. Also the plastic clips that held the charger to the phone were way to sensitive and broke easily
The iPod mini is actually fairly simple and fun to take apart. Id make sure to get a name brand or reputable battery. I got one on Amazon or eBay a bit cheap and it was a bit too cheap and doesn’t seem to last much better then the original! But really fun little iPods. Also really easy to swap an SD card instead of the little Flash cards those used. Can only get so many gigs of storage but still fun little iPods and cheaper to mod then others.
if you decide to work on the pink iPod mini make sure to watch plenty of repair videos on it to replace the battery, also i would suggest modding it with a compact flash card adapter and a micro SD card for more storage, these little iPod can store plenty of music with that and the battery last forever with the solid state memory compared to the small hard drive that is in it also the backlight was turned off in this video, you can turn that on in the settings and have a better looking display or for night use :) there is color mods for the display also if your up to it
For the iPhone 4, if it’s not showing anything on the screen when you press the power button (like the symbol that it needs to charge) then it most likely needs a screen replacement, not a new charging port. I’ve seen the same thing on an iPhone 6, I replaced the screen and it worked perfectly
I don't expect many refugees to come to Jersey, but here in the Netherlands many Ukrainians are asking for phones. You may actually be able to help with that bag!

Aahh..Nokia. Got five of them. Super phones, and I've even been to the city of Nokia. Used the 3310 for many years, and it still works. Xperias are great. On the sixth year of my Z5 now. It's solid as a rock 😀
The original Walkman came out in the late 1970s; the iPod didn't come out "shortly after." Sony also had a few other portable players in the interim, including the Discman, a portable CD player, and there were many, many competitors to both the Walkman and the Discman on the market. The iPod wasn't even the first portable mp3 player, it's just the first one that gained a huge amount of popularity.
I have previously had an iPod Mini where I changed the hard drive for a Compact Flash card (must be ATA compatible). It's also fairly easy to change the battery.
I got at least 40 old phones. Most of them are Nokia and Sony Ericsson. But also got other brands. It's awesome to see old phones again. Thanks for the video Elliot!
When you said small phone, i remember the Nokia 6510. It was so awesome, and one could record audio on it. So used to record my favorite song on it and listen to it through a headset connected.

The tiny Sony Ericsson is the t600, it's a redesigned Ericsson t66, both were great phones back then but both suffered from drop in reception few months after usage (had 3 units replaced under warranty, yet still love it) The iPod wasn't Apple's answer to the walkman, it came 10+ years after it 😊
try and use one of the smaller 30-pins for the white 4, I have two 4’s out of four that refuse to charge with the 30-pin with the two locks on the sides
I actually have a Sony Ericsson from I guess early 2000's and it still works just fine but I needs a sim card to run, although, it works just fine with an inactive one I use.
The white 4, how long did you put it on the charger for? Might leave it over night plugged in, its probably dead dead and needs a few hours to wake up again. Otherwise, great haul!

I had an iphone 4 that was stuck on a blank screen after putting a battery in it after it had been off for a long time. I could tell it was charging up because my PC saw it in itunes. I did a hard reset and the screen started working again. So maybe let it charge a bit then try a hard reset (hold in home and power for 10 seconds or so)
The Xperia phones have some sort of exclusive playstation capabilities or something from what I remember. You might have been able to use remote play with it at some point with the ps3 or with the ps4 before the remote play app became available for all android and apple phones. I know for sure that it had some sort of playstation exclusive capability.
For the iPod touch, try pressing volume up, then volume down and then press and hold power until iTunes logo shows up.. connect to computer with iTunes, update and restore
The iPhone 4 i had so much problem with connection that i turned it in after 7 days and got my money back. I didn't have an iPhone until 6 and 6 Plus. Then my 6 Plus got water damaged and i went for Samsung afterwards which had waterproof phones after the 6 plus.
