- Magpul Shotgun Stock and Fore end - that's what we are taking about today. In this video, we are going to show you how we took the stock and fore end off of my Remington 870 Express Tactical and put on the Magpul stock, fore end, and sling adapter. Then we put my 'old' stock on to my buddy Nathan's 870.

Why would you remove the action bars and slide? Just slide the tool over the magazine tube and remove the castle nut... Slide off the fore end, and replace it ...put the nut back on, and snug it down.
That tool is made for sliding over the mag tube to remove the forend without removing it from the gun
I was gonna say no one is mentioning that you don't have to actually remove the bolt carrier off the gun lol
The fore end allows you to attach other Magpul accessories - like a light mount for example. Additionally, I the positive grip one can get on the Magpul fore end is worth noting. The Condor 1-to-2 is good, though you will need to make sure you have your sling mounts all set up first.

I had to buy a 2" long bolt to replace the inadequately short 1/12' bolt Magpul supplied. Without the longer bolt I couldn't get the sloppy wobble out of the stock. I wish corporate would stop trying to save 13 cents on the better bolt. Remington's receiver stud is hard steel with 1/2" of threads whereas Magpuls 1 1/2" bolt only utilizes 1/4" of the receiver stud's threads. Cost wasn't the issue in as much as finding and getting a 2" long 1/4-28 socket head grade 8 bolt in the middle of Wyoming. LOL

Remington has many different barrel types. So 'standard' doesn't really exist. If you have a 26" or longer barrel there is a high probability that it is threaded. Such is the case with most 870 express packages on the market currently. If you have a 18.5, 20, 21" barrel there is a good probability that it does NOT have threads. Should be any easy question for the seller to answer if you are in the purchasing end of the deal so just ask. Hope this helps.

Yeah I like how nobody shows how to get the bolt carrier back in..
I just did this for the 1st time last friday when my moe furniture came in and it took me quite a bit to figure out had to watch a completely different video on how to remove and replace the bcg.
And was a mechanic for 10 years.
Everyone should be warned 1st on how to reinstall the bcg .
That kicked my ass for about an hour before I found a video on how to reinstall that.

I watch a lot of these vids, everyone completely removes the slide action tube. You don’t have to do that. The tool slips over the magazine tube.

Those look like some handy "deer and small game guns" to me. I wonder if the SGA has a different enough wrist angle to keep my big thumb away from my big nose with stock at 12.5" LOP. That might be a handy stock if it would keep my thumb out of my nose when short-er..

I installed the sling adapter in the same position you did but in Magpul website the adaptor is installed backwards www.magpul.com/assets/images/Shotgun/PDE_shotgun%20sling%20mount_02.jpg , don't makes sense for me.

Sorry realize this is old video. I have new 870 Ex tac and put magpul furniture like you. My question is… why for a shotgun would you have a sling loop by the trigger? Is it basically to carry it like an AR sling across your chest? If you want to sling your shotgun around your back (not front) wouldn't you want that attachment to be further back on your buttstock? Just curious as to the different places you sling a shotgun and for what purpose. Thx!
I find it does just that - keeps it close when you are carrying it.
What are the grooves for in the Magpul stock. Seems like it would be for a sling?
I'm new to shotguns. Just got one last week. I see the advantage of changing out to the Magpul stock. What are the advantages of doing it with the fore-end? Also, if you put a sling on your 870, would you also use the Condor 1 to 2? Thanks for your help.
Does the sling Mount work for non-magpul stocks? I plan on buying the sling mount I just want to make sure it would fit my speed feed stock before I purchased it.

Yes there is a difference, ones a 12 and one is a 20
What mag tube clamp/sling attachment are you using up front?
That's the standard one that came with my 870.

I guess I’m just retarded because I can’t get the guides to go back in with the new forend attached and now the whole thing is just f***ed and I’m about to break something.
Too much disassembly to instal forend . Don't have to go that far .
Instead of bore you reinstalling, yea man some of us need that info. Thumbs down
