- Pedestrian level railway crossing at Jefferies Level Crossing in the Homesteads, Thurrock. Discovered this whilst walking in Essex, when crossing from one side of the railway to the other, you see farmland. I'm sure these pedestrian level crossings are common in the UK, but for me, it was new for someone who comes from London.
Lol are they poor to put an actual sign instead of taking a picture of a sign.
A member of the public probably put it there as there possibly wasn't sufficient signage

*pushes button*
*nothing happens*
It's pointless.
Esmarlin Guererro XD
It’s not pointless. If the line is not clear and there is a train coming and you press the button it will turn red
@@Ron_TTE then why don't just turn red when a train is coming
@@ferguslui352 the button is there to activate the lights, as they go out after several minutes
Why not only turn on the lights when there is a train coming?

Where did this take place in?
Jupiter The Planet I wrote it in the description box
Great to hear your voice at the end, mate :-)
No probs Cray :) I also uploaded the rock chart of 22nd September 1990 from the ITV Chart Show on my channel, thanks to CSTV228. It's been a long time since a 'new' chart show specialist chart has been uploaded.
So what does the button actually do?
That is a good question which I have no idea what it supposed to do on a railway crossing. I understand if it was on a road like a pelican crossing where cars will stop for you to cross, but on a railway line no train will stop for you to cross.
It pretty clearly showed that a green light appeared when the button was pushed. Presumably there is mechanism that detects whether a train is within a certain distance from the crossing. If there was a train near I bet it would be a red light!
@@petesharp3640 from what I have seen of other crossings the lights go out after several minutes, and the button turns the lights back on
cheap way to get injured........
