I FINALLY TUNED OUR FOCUS RS! PART 1

- So after around 2 years of owning this car, I finally gave myself the time to tune it for myself! Having never been in much of a rush to tune this car I randomly had the sudden urge to tune the car the way we wanted it!
The results may shock you! Or you might not be surprised...
This is part one the start of our tuning process as we aim to surpass this stage 2 tune.
This will hopefully mark the start of many of this type of content on our channel showing more of our tuning processes and projects!

I've had my RS on a dyno along with other mk3's an we was all down on power to what we should've been, I think it has come out that stock these didn't make 350 unfortunately. None the less great video was nice to see you do it all an to watch something like this 🙂👍🏻
Yeah I think that’s just the case with these! In part 2 we get it to our target aswell which is even more impressive :D

they actually make the 350 but theyre sketchy with the awd system and a lot of dynos measure differently, some dont even work
I’ve just taken my Dreamscience ds ultima 3+ map off my mk3 rs as I didn’t like the way the car drove with it. I’d be interested in your map once it’s tried and tested. I’d be looking to have it flashed then put on your rollers.
Yes we can do that no problem :D iv been out since making this video constantly driving the car with absolutely no driveability issues or signs of the car being unhappy, I’m actually going out today to document how it drives on the latest calibration which will be featured in the next video and produces even more power :D
@@lairdperformance2235 can an overrun map be built into it? I wouldn’t mind something like that as I’m still a child at heart 😂

Any particular reason you have the air-con on whilst running on a dyno?
It just turns on with the car 9 times out of 10, it doesn’t effect anything power wise from my experience

Seen a few videos on these cars and they all ran on dyno 320 to 335bhp not one I seen hit the 350bhp figure ford said it had
In fairness I have seen it a couple of times, but it’s nuts that we’ve now seen a couple of these this low

@@samuelriester1419 it is indeed, some people say there’s a dyno mode which uses a combination of selecting gears and stuff, but it’s not something iv ever done with them, usually dyno modes are within ecu calibrations

Sorry if this is a dumb question but how come the handbrake is applied during the dyno runs? Cool to see you uploading more videos recently I'll have to subscribe as just was checking what you've uploaded coincidentally. Dream of some time maybe coming to you for a S280 build or maybe I'll just get stage 2 but might make sure the rest is built maybe a little bit past normal stage 2. I guess you'd be able to do custom tuning and not sure if that's what you already do with the regular stage kits as each car may react different
The hand break is applied with rear drive unit disengaged to do the run, if I have the hand break off it’s just one less safety piece we have in place :D, yes we can custom tune, however with stage 2 generally you shouldn’t need to as everything is within a tight tolerance and the way the tuning works on modern ecu is a good solution should be very repeatable :)

But its interesting to get a behind the scenes view of the tuning cant beleive the 30bhp loss wonder whats causing such a loss a power
I think it’s just a characteristic of the car really and Itl just be your luck if you get one that’s a high power one or not, but stay tuned for part 2 as we do unlock a bit more from it ;)
@@lairdperformance2235 can't wait bud may be in the car market next year possibly for a mk 3 rs if finances work out so will be bringing it down if everything pans out 😁😁 cant wait to see part 2
