The sound of life is musical. It is a feeling.
I've been playing a long time but after watching this want to start over!!!
Great lesson. Frank is the man!
Frank this is so useful really great you put this out
Thanks, Frank, for your great lesson, in playing jazz chords! Peace, Charles
Nice fundamental visit, I've personally been struggling to make sense of applying the chord theory in a simple way, so this type of perspective on shell voicings and simplifying the shape really has practical real value. It's nice to be able to play a few nice big shapes but in a comping or band setting this makes a lot of sense to not overcomplicate the process. Currently working on Always by Irving Berlin.
Thanks for a great lesson Frank! If you're a jazz guitarist, you have to learn how to play chords with finesse. Those six string barre chords don't make it on jazz standards.
thank you Frank..another great lesson..one question totally unrelated..I`ve been playing a while and I`ve never fully understood why luthiers put the dots where they are..I put them on the 3rd 5th 7th 8th and 10th frets corresponding to G A B C and D..I`ve never quite understood what they`re doing on the 9th fret or any other pattern that does not correspond to the natural notes ?
I recently developed a painful callus from lots of barring on my lefthand index finger. My doctor gave me a steroid shot in the finger. Ouch! So, another reason to stop using barre chords.
