I just love how humble he is. Dude is a beast.
He lives down the road for me in Michigan.I see him at the grocery store. From time to time.I'm one of the biggest tool fans in the world.Every time i've talked to him we never talk about Music
"I'm never gonna make any money doing it." 😂 So glad he decided to do what he loves. Love you Danny! ❤ You're the best! And I need that shirt.
Danny’s the man. Such a great inspiration for innovative creativity
Such a humble dude
Tool changed me. For the better ❤
Please tell me you know about opiate. So many tool "fans" I've talked to have never heard that album. Huh!? I was a junior in highschool when I heard it for the first time and like you said, it changed my life.
Thanks to Rick Beato for this.
TOOL is my happy place
One of those rare bands that were destined to be together & just 'gel' together & read each other so well. I'm so grateful for TOOL. I'd happily wait another 20 years for another TOOL album lol.
Karma truly blessed Danny and the others for having their hearts poured into their work. 🎉
Thank you Danny for carrying on playing with those guys
This entire interview is amazing.
Four phenomenal talents all in one band. You can say what you want about the best but you’ll be hard pressed to find any band with more collective talent than these guys. Justin Danny and Maynard are paragons of their crafts, while Adam is one of the most creative souls to ever call this spinning, speeding rock home…
Long live TOOL
You're right 100%! Adam comes up with innovative unique licks all his own and just looks at the guitar in a way only he can! It's always very refreshing even before Danny's crazy talented self plays what I still catch myself thinking what kind of robot is this guy? There's no way a human being could play something that challenging so effortlessly! He's a bad ass! He's THE bad ass! 🤘
Love you Danny biggest drum inspiration for me. The fact that he said he did it for himself hit me so hard in a good way. If there was a Best drummer award it goes to Danny. Idc about those drummers that pull crazy tricks with their sticks nowadays just to show it off. They can never pull of a stunt like Lateralus the way tool did as pioneers in such a long time, that's the way of a true creator. It's accuracy over every other ability and that is exactly what they showed. They showed something that no other rock band has ever achieved.
Fate. Thank you universe.
What I love about Tool is that they remind me of the old adage, "...iron sharpens iron.." they compliment each other so well and seem to ha e clearly just sharpened each other over the years so damn well! Cheers! If asked, I typically tell people that they all play lead simultaneously and in a dance together.
No matter what's happening around me Tool is my go to music, you guys rock, Danny it's been a pleasure watching all your vids on CZcams your so laid back and down to earth 🫶🥁🥁🥁🥁🥁
some great guys and music
One of my heroes
Thanks Danny for never giving up and for following through with your decision we love you! You are an amazing musician! Mad respect!
My favorite band ❤
Danny is my favorite modern drummer and potential a god. Pretty sure
This shows in no matter what realm it is , if you are sincere in your love for what you do and have respect for others who are doing the same , you can recognize each other no matter how you find each other.
Danny is my favorite Drummer ever. "Volle Pulle" aka He is going all out. To the point of telling his own stories while pulling the strings together. Such grace in all that power. I bet he gives great Hugs.
I love how they all look identical to their 20 something selves. Some people are unrecognizable as they age, but these guys have never changed, in every way, and I hope that never changes 🤘🏻🖤
Tool 🥰🥰🥰🙌🏽🙌🏽🙌🏽🙌🏽 I will forever be in love with tool!! I saw them at Red Rocks Theater in 98!!! TOOL IS LIFE!!!! 🙌🏽
Talking about being in the right place, man. The forces that be knew what you guys had, so everyone else flaked out.
Just like with Rush. It had to be that exact combination of those guys to have such a distinct style
Greatest band ever!!!
Good thing Danny rented the space to them
Or tool probably would not exist
Nice Going
The time changes he makes mid song are phenomenal 🙌
Danny, you are an amazing. example of following your heart and love. Thank you ❤
Best drummer I’ve EVER seen live. Hands down
This is just proof to me that doing what you love will not get you shit unless you are incredibly lucky lol. Shout out to those drummers who flaked out
I love this. More than anything in the world. Yes
Stand up dude, best to ever do it.
Love you man😊
This guy is a straight beast, one of my favorites
Your so fabulous Danny
Danny Carey wearing a King Crimson Shirt... now i can die in peace. 🎉
If u like that ull love the reason this interview happened...he's playing with the "discipline " king crimson line up without Robert fripp
Saw Sessanta in May. Love Danny❤
Absolutely the greatest
He has made some money after all. Awesome
Sober is a real song
The stalking Butler gets me every time
I was glad he didn’t omit mentioning Paul when speaking on the origin of the band.
Danny and Maynard are gold together!!!
Thankfully all of those other guys didn't want to move all of their crap!
Rick beato and Danny carry 2 amazing people
Love u man!
Dudes a behemoth 🔥
Danny and Maynard were in green jelly/jello together before Tool. It’s actually Maynard singing “not by the hair on my chinny chin chin” on three little pigs.
giant dude, gentle aura, a living god ❤
Like Danny alot..Normal dude that loves what he does.
Danny would have made a phenomenal drummer in one of Zappa's bands. No question he's up there with Vinnie and Terry.
Just seems like a down to earth good guy
He never brags on himself! Hes always modest and in reality hes maybe the baddest drummer around! He does those crazy odd time signatures just as easy as most do a straight up 4/4! Some of his stuff i just keep listening to and i still shake my head going how does he do that so seamlessly, much less do it at all!
I seen this guy just kills on their drums
I love this man 🫶🏻
Please come back to Australia one day. I know it's so isolated and there's no reason to come here, but unfortunately we're stuck here unless we move overseas and there's been absolutely nothing since February 2020
Great person ❤
That’s awesome!!!
Who knew
One of the best bands ever
I like Danny
And Tom morello introduced Adam Jones to Maynard, wild!
Wow that’s amazing… we are ALL always divinely guided throughout our life!!! Every step we take is calculated! We must believe look at this?!? A very good band that lets the great spirit move them and groove them.. thank you YAH AND THANK YOU TOOL
Did it their way!
Best bands start in random ways
Meet me in the astral realm so we can share some cool things we have in common
Best drummer. And such a normal man.
So cool
Incredible 👏
My belief
The snake = his rock star persona
The blood before me, the skin here = his new baby boy
His rock star persona and his new father identity are killing each other
Best looking 60 year old in music today
Is Rick Beato cool with you stealing his content?
Best drummer !
past present and future .......
Up there with Bonham, Neil Peart and Buddy Rich. JC is my favorite mainstream living drummer.
Crazy how if he was not kind enough this band would never exist the way we know.
In the constant debates on who is the best drummer, Danny gets left out way too much. Among the best ever,IMHO
🍻🤘
OMG YOUR LIKE THE BEST DRUMMER EVER!! Was your son the one who played drums at 17 it RedRocks Theater in 98?!!!!!!!
What a band . Mozart would be proud
Aahhh. Danny Carey.... the god of drummers the world over.
If you don't know who's on his shirt, look them up
He goes somewhere else inside his head when he plays!
🤙
❤
Cool 😎
Interview link?
I saw them in 94 after they released Undertow. Really small venue. I didn't understand why they were talking about butt fng each other in the hotel room and other pretty vial sht. Then just before the break they had everyone Hail their allegiance to Satan and everyone but me and my gf didn't. I was like wtf?? I was in Kansas City Mo at the time. I think they just wanted to fk with the minds of another "flyover state" 😂. I still listened to Undertow but not much else until Fear Inoculum came out. Absolutely a masterpiece.
Looks like James May's slightly younger brother.
Love that song Prison Sex
Gracias.
Means so much.
My daughters name? Daniela.
It’s funny I feel like there used o be a lot more people like this. Well california 30 years ago
3 genius space monkeys!
Imagine being one of the drummers who couldn’t be bothered to be a founding member of Tool because moving drums is too much hassle!
And the rest is history
He's lucky man that he was at the right place at the right time man cuz green jelly wouldn't have worked. He had no idea he was going to make a living doing this but he wanted to do it for himself and look at where it fucking got him he started like everyone else but the difference is he spends 4 to 5 years coming up with drum parts because they take so damn long to come out with albums I can see why a lot of his stuff is like mathematical equations if Neil Peart even spent four to five years on drum Parts imagine how fucking amazing his stuff will be and it's already out of the ballpark Stellar incredible greatest drummer ever I mean no wonder he's been able to hone his craft like he has been able to but the older they get the shorter the time they're going to have in between albums and I just wonder if the music is going to be as intense and as intricate honestly I hope they go back to a undertow sound where they don't spend as much time on songs. And just have shorter more brutal songs unlike the last three albums. I mean their critique enough in their abilities that they can pull the rabbit out of the hat so to speak and come up with some amazing music in half the time they normally do. Another of the god drummers of the 90s that can pull off amazing drum Parts in half the time that Danny can you look no further than Tim Alexander from Primus their songs aren't as long as tools. But fucking Primus put together some amazing instrumentally intense songs. It just doesn't get any better. but now Primus every time they do a live show they put a jam in the middle of every song that they do so it stretches Out the songs to make them longer but it's totally freaking worth it cuz they take it to another level but Tim could put a drum part on any song from Frizzle fry through Tales from the Punchbowl and they're just absolutely magnificent drum beats and drum parts he did it in half the time say Danny would because Primus could put out an album even now in a three maybe four years. So I fully expect Danny to be able to do the same thing in a 3 to 4 year. The songs are going to be shorter and not as intricate but maybe they'll be more brutal and even heavier like the old stuff. I put Tim Alexander's name in there because I feel like he is the only other consummate drummer from the 90s that's on the same level as Danny and Danny would tell you the same thing he would probably tell you because he's so modest that Tim's a better drummer than he is. But yeah how the hell would you want to flake out on the beginning of tool as a drummer imagine those guys now that flaked out how pissed off they are that they didn't stay with the band. But yeah I bet you he's glad that he had this to fall back on besides green jelly. Well I guess I would have to put another 3 drummers in there from the 90s that really blow my mind besides Danny and Tim and that would fluff from Faith No More John Stainer from helmet and tomahawk and David sandstrom from the refused.
Give credit, this is from the Rick Beato interview with Danny Carey
Better call Saul has put on some weight 😢
It's amazing how different decisions in life and different situations can culminate into such amazing things. Just being born in the first place is such miracle we take for granted. On top of that people want to deny the existence of the being that made this all possible. Life is a hell of a trip!
wow😢
Danny did you see Maynerds eyes his eyes in the photo his eyes
The size difference between Danny and Maynard will always be funny
Notice how Maynard has never tried to hide that. Unlike the singer from godsmack.
Like a chihuahua next to a golden retriever
@@garrett3698this is the most accurate description of MJK and Danny I have ever heard in my life. I just met Danny in February (my all time dream come true), and I can confirm he is in fact… a golden retriever. Also, the only band member who is never around for the fans is Maynard, so all bark and no bite as he hides behind the other dogs 😂
@PneumaNoose whats that make Adam Jones? A chill stoner's yorkie? And what about Justin Chancellor? Isn't he a tuff lookin bulldog or what. They all are like dogs, cool and sociable, but definitely have their roles of support.
@@garrett3698 you know, Justin is SO enthusiastic for the fans, too. Adam was definitely the most shy of the 3 (again, Maynard wasn’t around). I would honestly say Justin is like a German Shepherd because he’s so smart but also just so happy to be there with you. So Adam would be like a more refined and calm breed that I can’t think of off the top of my head lol. But the Danny/Maynard-Golden Retriever/Chihuahua reference couldn’t be more accurate LOL
