  • New purchase, getting ready for winter 23/24.
Treated myself to a stove for the tent. This was the first set up and burn. Made a few errors unknowingly but updated as I went.
If you’re rolling that pipe, make sure there are no loved ones near, that was a nightmare for me. Plenty of vids on CZcams on how to do that.

Nice stove the Traveller. I like the fact its 12L and sits in-between the 9L mini snd the 15L mid size models. How come you opted for a non folding model ?...edit i can see its light even eith 3 glass and quite reasonably priced. 👍

I opted for this one as it’s one piece construction, less moving parts. Whilst folding ones are fully functional I prefer the more of a sealed unit. No distortion of panels and gaps, although folding ones are fine, just made more sense to me. The length accommodates most standard length bagged logs. I also like the raised grate that allows air flow, just like an old school fireplace. 3 windows also great. Trade off is the bulk, but can be stepped to outside of rucksack ot go inside a 40lt +. To be honest, a lot of camps have been not too far from the truck. Or I’ve used the mountain bike when greater distance involved, if terrain allows, just tying stove onto pannier rack. Another reason is I’m gonna buy a 6ft sectional pipe, this should fit in the stove, so the bulk remains the same with extra function. The rolling pipe is fine, but sectional looks easier and more robust. 👍 oh, and the price 👍 I also feel the size works well in both my tents, the Pomoly Leo 2 and the OneTigris Smokey Hut. Would still be ok for bigger too.
I’d still buy a folding one to save on bulk but the size of the traveller hasn’t been an issue to date.

@@cowalexplorer Very good points. My hikes in are generally under a mile but I need to be discreet. I like the idea of strapped to a pack and the idea of a sectional pipe. I would stump up fro a winnerwell fast fold plus as the nesting flue looks great...but no glass! They also stand tall so may struggle in the Leo style tents as long legs pushes the stove top closer to fabric. Thanks for the input mate it's appreciated. 👍

@@hedgerowsandzeros I’ve just ordered the sectional pipe., went for 7 sections so about 7ft plus height of stove will make sure it clear of any tent, can take less sections for the Leo 😀. Yes the Leo has its limit with height. I was worried the traveller would be too high, but no issues. Hopefully get the stove lit tomorrow night for a one night camp.

@@cowalexplorer Ahh great. Will those sections sit inside the stove in transit. Gotta say the thought of that Ti roll doesn't appeal. 😬

@@hedgerowsandzeros yes, I think 6 sections will. It’s deffo for shorter trips, think it’s an extra kg for the pipes. The rolling pipe gives me Tourette’s. 😀
