- What caused the Godzilla species to go extinct? Many of us believed it was due to various factors like wars with the Kongs (probably stirred up by a certain orangutan-like Titan), conflicts with the Mutos-especially Prime, who seemed to target them specifically, and Ghidorah's arrival, which could have been the final blow. However, one major factor that often gets overlooked is starvation. As the planet's radiation naturally decreased, it became less capable of supporting huge titan populations. This led to many titans either shrinking in size or becoming the last of their kind because there simply weren't enough resources left to sustain large numbers of them.

In GxK it’s stated that a gojira once quote, “ate a star” deep down in the hollow earth and turned wicked, so this could mean that hollow earth energy is too much for a gojira to process and drives them mad, which is why they don’t go down in the hollow earth

Due to their insane size and need for sustenance, their species could be carried by one member, where offspring is produced later in life to fill the niche. Look at mothra.
