- Hello everybody!!! Welcome to today's top requested video on how I take my aesthetic iPad notes with Goodnotes. This was a monster to produce/film/edit, but I FINALLY finished it. It LITERALLY has everything I do to take notes, nothing skipped or missed in the process, one of my longest videos yet. I always like to take messy notes while in lectures, and then rewrite them to have “Pretty Notes”. This in itself is my study method, and then I’ll just rewrite whatever I need to go over in a separate notebook.
So my three notebooks in a subject are:
“Messy/Lecture Notes”
“Pretty Notes”
“Study Notes”.

@@vd7541 I rewrite them pretty, of course, but my study notes are me just writing the same thing over again. I need to have it separate so there’s a space where I understand what’s going on, and it’s organized and not the same information repeated in seven different pages
Rewriting notes is an inefficient and ineffective study method...y'all should try active recall

are you able to study from an ipad/pc? i find myself struggling a bit and i don't know why
How I take notes is this:
Before the lecture: I make a checklist of the learning outcomes
During the lecture: I type my notes
After the lecture: I rewrite my notes. This helps the info to stick in my brain

and for taking notes u can use one note it is a really good free note taking app

Just a small tip: When u colour code u don’t need to long hold to bring the colour options
U can just simply tap on the text
It will just save u more time😊

Quick tip for those who also have procreate (or really any drawing app with a paint bucket tool and layers). I like to draw my diagrams on Procreate so that i don’t accidentally miss any cracks while filling in gaps & then can use layers for diagrams such as the brain one here so I can better see that things line up without having to move them. I just prefer it as I am a neat freak when it comes to drawing and like the greater ability to edit my finished diagram

You can easily take a screenshot by dragging the apple pencil from the left or right bottom corner all the way to the centre.

Its never too late to improve your handwriting! Just look up how to improve handwriting videos on CZcams ☺️
Just a protip: use colour coding wisely. If you don’t make out a scheme before, you might get confused. Either make a colour coding guide for yourself or follow someone else’s or just keep the colour coding on a minimum(of 2 or 3 colours). Hope it helped!

If you were in a lecture, you would start getting your notes done after it finished with this ✨pretty technique✨
Personally, I like taking notes on paper because it gives me satisfaction. There's a feel to it and I don't feel it when I write it on my touch screen laptop ( wid a smartpen of course)
There are “paper” screen protectors that give you the same feel of writing on actual paper, sounds satisfying too! I searched and tried a few on Amazon, just a thought, if you’re interested in trying it out. Happy studying!
iPads are definitely not the same as touch screen laptops

That’s so cool, but seems time consuming. How long does it usually take you to do your notes
Yeah I agree but when you make notes like this you will study a lot and emphasize your studying by taking notes and when the exam time came you don’t need to reread all the slides and books just your notes. It’s time consuming in the beginning but in the end it saves a lot of time when you have just a little time.
@@aminathair5977 true at the end I used my notes to study for igcse. Not the textbook. As time consuming as it is it helps alot

It costs $8, but you only pay once and it’s absolutely worth it.

Is there a way, that when you write your notes, the app will automatically change it to a font so that all your notes look perfect ? almost like it looks like you are typing with a font?
She didn't use the tool, but, yes, there is sich a tool in goodnotes. It changes the things you wrote into any font. Also the apple pencil , at least generation 2 of the Ipad pro has got a scribbles function. So you can write in any app, for example your emails per handwriting and it then turns automatically into font.

To take Good Notes you need to have:
1. iPad
2. Goodnotes App
3. Good Handwriting
4. A lot of time.
What I prefer is a simple Word Document, which is much easier to make, add diagrams easily, much cheaper and easier. 😅✌🏻
Alternatives [in case one can't afford it...]
- Phone, laptop with touchscreen or pen tab
- Onenote, Notability, Noteshelf, Inkodo, Scrble Ink, etc.
- Any handwriting's good if you can read it and understand

Yeah, to learn the information on these notes in a flashcard would take like 10 minutes tops. It would probably take me an hour to draw a brain, write out all the information, and decorate lol
