I had the injury while playing soccer and i have been away from this sport that i really like for very long time now almost 6 years.

My son had an isolated LCL tear, the ortho said he didn’t need a DJ , but as a PT this makes me nervous. What would you recommend for bracing. In my option 2 weeks post tear with non- surgical route the DJ would be beneficial. He is a two sports athlete Lacross and football he was recently injured in a noncontact injury. Partial tear of the popliteal bicep for femoris and LCL. What would you recommend for bracing?

you probably should get that looked at - your knee shouldn't do that - you likely have a torn ligament. But yes, this brace would prevent that from happening.

because not everyone can use the tool. You know yourself developing country average salary under $ 300 (poor) and some even under $ 150 and more. if the goods are only in perjual traded at high prices, I think the goods are not helpful enough for humans. but it is useful only for the rich.

You see, you fail to recognize the broken healthcare industry in America. Everything is extremely overpriced and overvalued. A basic sling with a waistband can bill insurance at $118 as a "shoulder immobilizer". This is not DonJoy overpricing the brace as much as it is medical coding, billing, and reimbursement flaws. Because of the broken healthcare system in America, these extremely useful items are not obtainable by the public in a reasonable price setting.

The fact that your government hasn’t put a system in place that encourages companies to sell their products through small, wide spread retailers isn’t Don Joy’s fault. Nor is it the fact that their products are too expensive to be sold in third world countries their fault as well. Don Joy can’t sell their products at a price you could ever afford simply because the cost of the materials and labor used to make their products are also equally expensive. Thus, the end price is also going to be very expensive. It’s all relative however. If Don Joy was manufacturing their knee braces in a factory in Indonesia, those braces would be far cheaper. That’s because the cost of materials and labor would equally be cheaper. But it’s quite possible that not all the raw materials required th make this brace are even available in Indonesia. In this case, that would be the titanium. Titanium simply isn’t available in every single country. There’s other knee braces that are much cheaper that could probably do exactly what you need as well. I consider myself really lucky to not have been stuck living in an under developed country. And that’s all it actually is...pure luck, nothing more. Living in Indonesia would be like stepping back in time about 50 years or more.

@@inquisitivesoutherntara6997 with appropriate documentation of an applicable diagnosis code on a prescription, and medical documentation of objective ligamentous instability they will cover. Even if covered, you may still pay out of pocket depending on your specific policy.
@@willwalsh9657 I've had several Drs put the correct codes of diagnosis on prescriptions, and neither one of my two insurances will pay. My husband has me on his insurance through his work, United Health, then I have Medicare. I have a rare genetic disorder that causes extreme laxity in all my joints, knees being the worse, and I'm stuck with some horrible Walmart knee braces. My disorder has a code now, but United Health refuses. They say its a diagnosis code and not a code for braces. I'll eventually be in a wheelchair, but I'd love to stay ambulatory as long as possible. I have fallen many times because of instability and ligaments are stretched out. I also have arthritis in my knees and spine and in need of knee replacement surgeries,but because of the tissue,ligaments,etc they won't do either one. If you know where I can get any help it would be greatly appreciated. Medicare automatically rejects what United Health won't cover.
Depends on your insurance I as well didn't think it would cover the brace i only 20% and I'm not rich by far and im paying for cancer treatment for my wife as well it is a custom knee brace and yes anything custom will cost a little bit more but there prices aren't bad they are affordable and they have different braces to accommodate

@@tinacollins943 not really,I live in trinidad,and doctors here can't rule out what the problem is,but for the past year my legs and knees started getting weak and I have a loss of mobility and foot drop.

It's time to design a new prototype.. I'm bone on bone..
As you know.. it is quite a challenge facing knee replacements.
So; I'm thinking,
hey... there has to become, a better line of braces..
The need for such, is epidemic..
Traction.. not mere stability.. There is an absolute need for such.
I can't afford any of your braces.. You're doing a another number on
the poor.. meaning helping the rich.. and turning your face from the
mirade of suffering, who cannot fathom such a purchase as your
braces.. unless of course, you put them on a lifetime payment plan.
Back to the actual brace design/s:
There needs to be a way to adjust the brace; on both sides of the hinges;
above and below..
to bring about traction; separating the bones..
Perhaps; in addition, it could be considered.. to have a
a stiff; but flexible.. rod that runs the entire length of the lower
extremity, into the heel of whatever shoe you wear? On the inside
extremity... It could carry a lot of the weight, and hopefully put it on
the hinges, instead of the knee.. On the calf; using straps, there does not seem
to be a way to bring that about.. And if you do.. there is too much
movement, that would cause rubbing/grinding..
One could almost; it would seem,
fabricate the extension I mentioned.. What material to use for
the extension? I don't know.. but you would also need a way to
comfortably seat the extension on the bottom of the shoes.
You'd have to measure everything so that you would not cause
lower back pain, if the length was wrong.. However; the key,
as I see it.. is in designing the extension from bottom of the hinges,
to the bottom of your shoes.. It could be that the bottom
piece would be running down both sides of the shin. .or
middle of the calf.. Who cares wtf it looks like. . if it can keep
you on your feet, without having invasive surgery; knee replacements,
right? Common.. someone fabricate it, and fit me with your
fortune making braces.. (complimentary, I hope?) I don't have the
skill to create a prototype, but sure enough I see what needs to
be done.. and that is just the first thought. This new line of brace
needs to be affordable for everyone. Get on the side of those who
suffer. .who are not your rich friends.. Disgusting how you have
positioned your braces for the affluent, and excluded the poor..

Bone on bone? Sounds like you need a knee replacement. I have had Acl, pcl, 3 meniscus surgeries and a total quad/s rupture and surgery. Little meniscus left on right knee. My 2 competition/play braces, 1 custom fit Defiance are excellent. As are my daily, any risk of exposure braces I wear.
wally bang It would be great if the Defiance brace had a way to bring about traction too. What do you think about that?
They have custom braces call defiance plus oa that changes the angle to take some of the weight off the I side of your knee so it's not bone on bone

Everyone has heard of titanium. It's not a new thing.
I doubt they had YOU in mind when they were making this video. Don joy isn’t some second rate company. They make excellent knee braces, with this particular brace being one of the very best. And incidentally, not everyone is familiar with titanium. Just because you are doesn’t mean someone living in the country might be. This is actually the ONLY knee brace that I’m aware of that’s made from titanium. I’ve been using an unloader brace for more than 20 years. I’m currently looking for new custom made unloader knee braces.
