Il-2 1946 Stopping the Reich Campaign Mission 2: Escort Bombers

- Welcome back to another IL-2 1946 flight! We are continuing our Stopping the Riech campaign!
Today we are tasked with escorting a flight of B-17s on a bombing mission to Hamburg Germany. The bombers completed their mission and then a flight of BF-109s and ME-262 jets! We got several kills, including a few ME-262s! While we lost a few planes, the escort was overall successful and our flight took down several enemies, planes and pilots they cannot afford to lose at this stage of the war.

So what setup are you using to play flight sims? I notice you don't seem to be able to look around much
I have the Logitech Extreme 3D Pro, but I don’t think I have the hat button set up right to look around.
Yeah it's tough. I'm lucky enough to have a hotas with thumbsticks now, but I had a lot of luck playing 1946 with an xbox controller weirdly? Wouldn't be anyone's fiest choice but using steam's controller layers I could have full control of the guns, controls and complex engine management but could also use the right stick to look around completely freely. I'd recommend it honestly
Yeah, I’m unfortunately not. I can look around freely with the mouse, but it’s hard to manage the stick, key strokes, and looking around with the mouse at once. I want to see if I can get it set up that the top hat button can let me free look instead of the mouse.
