I kind of feel like the interpretation of the game that the casters got onto was not accurate for the first ~20min or so. It seems like they placed so much focus on what was "Good" for EG, and basically ignored or missed the fact that DFM was repeatedly successfully trading single kills for cross-map objectives, which is kind of the blueprint for how to win a game these days. It doesn't happen often but I found myself thinking "Wait what are the casters talking about??".
I kinda get what you are saying but no they were pretty accurate in their interpretation. DFM was destroying Eg and the "trade" were unecessary and kept the game looking closer than it actually was.
Thats like Pearl Harbor except they didn't see it coming.

Stop hating on EG, DFM just played a really good game. At 44:18, EVI used Teleport in the middle of a misfortune ult. That's pretty Chad, and Inspired even interrupted even tackled him as soon as the TP completed, but he still got the hop and stun over the wall. I think DFM just played a really good game.

@hermes heir Except there's always been atleast 1 or 2 na teams making it to worlds playoffs every year, while the minor regions except for VCS can't even make it out of groups, and ontop of that, C9 Alone doesn't really make NA a Minor Region.
What do you mean "at this point"? They haven't deserved to be a major region for the better part of a decade. I remember watching worlds for the first time back in 2012 after getting invested in the NA teams from the LCS, only to quickly realize that NA was garbage compared to every other big region. The ONLY reason that NA is a "major region" is that the game was made there. They have never and will never be good enough to compete on an international stage. And while we're at it, EU isn't much better, but they're still better than NA. Putting faith in a western team to win is guaranteed to bring disappointment. I guess as an end note, the best NA has ever done at worlds was 3rd place season 1. And in the time since, they made it into the top 4 once in 2018.

It's always funny to see EU fans delude themselves into overhyping their teams every year, that's how we get gems like "MAD is a contender for winning worlds" and "Flakked best ADC in the World". When reality hits them in the face, they start their little history revisionism (something EU is very good at, just look at how EU trash whitewash colonialism and are proud about being a bunch or rapists and looters lmao) and suddenly there's an excuse for why EU teams lost, which means EU is still the 2nd best region in the World, and the cycle just repeats every year.
