So one day i could love for some gaming wizard to just fix the issue with the music in the Sega 32x version of the game.
I mean the 32x’s music is basically produced through the Genesis chip plus an additional chip that adds extra channels, since it was just an add-on to the console. And Genesis music can either sound amazing (Sonic 3, Timothy Follin’s work) or shockingly terrible (the Sonic Spinball options menu)

I'd like to listen to a new version of At Doom's Gate, but the main guitar gets tweaked to add that sound from Credo's theme in Monster Hunter World. (Monster Hunter World did a collab with Devil May Cry which had different music playing depending on which weapon you were using. If you used the Lance, you would get Credo's theme, and the sound of the electric guitar changed on the first time the song loops.)

There is some misunderstanding about what MIDI is. A lot of those versions are MIDI, but the differences lies in the instruments packs used to emulate the track. That's whay, for instance, speaking about "midi dos version" is a non sens : you'll have different instruments (and so different output) based of the sound board you use (Sound Blasters were the most popular, but differences between the SB, SB16, SBPro, SBPro2, etc...), and also based on the type of output you select in the setup menu before starting the game. (General midi, SB, Adlib, Gravis...)

DOS GF1: Who dropped the speakers into the fish tank? 6 out of 10
DOS GF1: Great, the speakers are out of the fish tank but now they're damaged... 5.8 out of 10
DOS OPL 2: Rather weak, 4 out of 10
Sega 32X OPN2: Started okay, but then that permanent bumping effect rather destroys it, 3 out of 10
Sega 32X OPN2 unused: Not too shabby, but the totally unfitting drumroll made me think my phone is ringing, 5 out of 10
Atari Jaguar: Please. Don't. Set. A. Full. Stop. After. Each. Note. 4 out of 10
SNES: I GREW UP WITH THIS! And the depth of the SNES Soundchip is still amazing! 9 out of 10!
3DO: HOLY SHIAT! 20 out of 10! Without competition. If that track would compete in the Olympics, a rank above Gold Medal would have to be invented for it!
GBA: Regarding with what they had to work with here it's pretty impressive. 8.5 out of 10
RPG: Not too bad for a mobile game. 7 out of 10.
DOOM II: Different, but just as good as the original version. The Hyatts giving off some extra cool vibe. 8.9 out of 10.
DOOM III: The ultimate musical leadup to an absolute gamical letdown. 6 out of 10.
DOOM 2016: Iconic. Would not have worked without the groundwork all the other versions lied down. Still, iconic. 10 out of 10!
DOOM Eternal: Le-Gen-Da-Ry. 12 out of 10.
Mighty Doom: Cool tune, but hardly recognizable as "At Doom's Gate", too distorted from the original. 4 out of 10.
I need an extended version of 3:13-4:49 Sadly, it's nowhere to be found on CZcams, and the reason why u like it more is because I played a lot of doom on ps3 (doom 3 bfg edition)
OPL2 is my childhood
The original DOS MIDI and the 3DO versions are the best. Not too fond of the other ones.
OK i thought I heard this song a million times......I own this game on a dozen systems.....but WHAT! The 3DO version....it's like Judas Priest Touch of Evil!!!! killer! slow as DEATH! **** get PUNCHED in the FACE **** and then the chibbity bibbity gAmEb0y aDv4nc3 with the SYNCOPATION that is how you KNOW they are LAYING IT DOWN absolute fkin groove. 4 imps on the FLOOR. Thanks.
It's Doom 2016 for me. Mick Gordon was the star of that game. They really did him dirty...
I've always got a soft-spot for the SNES.
(General midi, SB, Adlib, Gravis...)
the Snes was one hell of a console, specially concerning the music.
eargasm after another.
The 2016 version sounds the coolest
Eternal
absolutely love the 2016 version
Uh, so, now i know that exist something called mighty doom, oh god
I find it funny how the unused OPN2 version sounds like it's played by a xylophone
Can’t beat that classic MIDI sound though…I like MIDI
dos, 3do version wow!!!❤❤❤❤
The only ones that do any justice to this epic song, is the original and the two done by Mick Gordon for DOOM 2016 and Eternal.
Music to my ears
Doom 3 is the most of its time version
i still dont know what the hell mighty doom was, i played it and tragically mighty doom was my first doom experience and i couldn't understand what i was playing. its also where i found out about daisy, sad but still i had some fun, one day ill get a genuine playthrough
The Sega 32x version is just sounds from the toilet or someone after eating beans.
