    Had this lift installed by the guy that makes them. $1500!! Within a few months, lots is shudder due to wrecking my CV joints. Several mechanics said that the lift was creating a very stressful angle on the CV joints. Problem would recur. Got it removed. Expensive learning experience.

      Dang that’s a bummer, we have had this on for 7 months and lots of trips, zero issues so far😎

      50,000 miles on my 2022 w 3 inch lift, 31 inch tires, and no problems at all. Pre 2021 siennas are more prone to problems when lifting.

      Very glad for you.
      What’s the source of info that pre 2021 sierra are more prone to problems after a lift? Older cars have older parts or is someone claiming it’s the design?

      @@RobertHughes-mu8hy Ya pretty interesting, wonder if they changed the cv's so they have more range of motion? or something simple like that, to most people there would never be a difference but when lifted its huge.

    I had a 2006 with a Journey's lift on it..loved it other than the fact it wore out 2 sets of (factory, not aftermarket..ouch!) CV axles within 40k miles..we are looking at a 2015 and your video is fantastic for giving us an idea on what we may be facing..thank you!

      Thank you for the kind words! I tried might not be entertaining but I wanted you all to be able to see step by step. These newer cv’s seem like they should have some more travel, doesn’t seem maxed at all.

    Thanks for helping me finally decide that lifting my Sienna is a bad idea. My Sienna is simply just not designed for off-roading. Whooda thunk?

    • @Geeks4x4
      @Geeks4x4  Před 4 měsíci +5

      Its not, its designed as a good family hauler. But its not going to wreck it to give it some ground clearance!

    Three questions!
    - Is it still safe?
    - does if affect gas mileage?
    - how much wear are you putting on the drive shaft with the new angle?
    Bonus question:
    With the control arm lower, do you feel the bumps more?

    • @Geeks4x4
      @Geeks4x4  Před 7 měsíci +4

      Thanks for stopping by!
      Totally still safe, this keeps all the factory components and just lifts them higher.
      It did affect mileage a little bit, but it will also depend on what tires you run and other factors.
      This is still in the motion of where the driveshafts were designed to be run, Shouldn't add any wear. Other than larger tires affect on overall vehicle if you go that route.
      The van rides the same as factory, because all of the components are factory just pushed out a bit.

  • @RobertHughes-mu8hy
    @RobertHughes-mu8hy Před 3 měsíci +1

    Seems like some do OK, but the “stern” will be at a lower angle. Also, only some parts of the van are raised.

    • @Geeks4x4
      @Geeks4x4  Před 3 měsíci

      Yes, you’re always going to have compromise with lifting this type of vehicle. As stated in the video the engineers really didn’t design this van with lifting in mind…. But it’s cool 😎
