A very quiet way to cross the Gotthard other than the classic Gotthard pass road or Tunnel road.Very scenical surroundings, but leading nowhere. You are forced to go either to the Furka/ Grimsel or all the way around the Jura or the Lötschberg train escape to get connected again..When it is not as sunny as on your trip day , this part of the Ticino valley is very intimidating as well.

One of the highest mountain passes in Switzerland, enjoyed the drive a lot, I don't know why this pass is somewhat in the shadow of other passes and not so popular. Mainly only local people from Ticino and Valais use this pass and also motorcyclists for fun. I lived in Zurich and near the lake Constance and near Luzern and I never had the possibility to use the Nufenen. I eather went home from Ticino or went home from Valais via other passes. To use the Nufenen, it is the best to once make a 2 days roundtrip from home.

Ideal place, among others (down from the top) for a gravity GP. No motor (possibly a brake powered flywheel accumulator) not a race but a single runner like down hill skiing but on wheels (2, 3, 4, 6, 8?) May replace skiing due to global warming?
