Her favorite bands are the Straycats and Zeppelin, she started drumming at age 2, she is self taught and doesn't know how to read music. She is absolutely adorable and gifted.
The video of her playing "Rock This Town" might be my favorite. It's probably the easiest song she plays but I've never seen someone having that much fun doing what they do. I just hope that Setzer and the other two cats have seen that video.
Ever since this video came out a few years ago I have to rewatch it once in awhile. It makes me feel so damn happy to see the absolute joy on her face.
She is the quintessential embodiment of slight-of-hand because most are watching her unfathomably brilliant stick work but it's her indescribably jaw-dropping footwork that makes her the drummer's drummer. Watch that right foot....unreal.
At a younger age is the best time to learn anything. Too bad there aren't drugs or some piece of tech that lets adults absorb knowledge/skills like a sponge. Like the limitless pill or some type of brain stimulation cap lol.
I'm hoping that's what's giving her an advantage in playing those triplets. At least that's what I've been telling myself during sleepless nights of envy :D

As a drummer of over 50 years, I tried playing that back in 1969 at 13. I still can't play it as well as that cute and ultra talented little girl. John Bonham is the hardest drummer to emulate, and she's got it down pat.

How is she doing them with one foot? Is she using a single pedal that can switch to a double strike and then switching back and forth from single strike to double strike? Either way, it's mind-boggling.
@@Zuungieit's a foot technique. Can be done with a regular single pedal. Looks like she uses the foot swivel technique. You also have heel-toe and foot slide techniques. Swivel is a variation of foot slide.
I was in a sad place, but seeing you, Yoyoka Soma, playing this (one of the favourite songs from my youth) and seeing how happy you are playing it, and playing it so very, very well... this made me feel so much joy that I cried. All I know is I'm a drummer myself, been playing since I was about 8 yrs old and I'm 51 now and Bonzo was a huge influence on me and my playing. I can tell you it took me a long time to master this song to my liking!! And I was in my twenties!! What this young lady is doing at 8yrs young to this song is nothing short of friggn incredible!!! How is she doing them with one foot? Is she using a single pedal that can switch to a double strike and then switching back and forth from single strike to double strike?
Either way, it's mind-boggling.
Frankly I'm tired of all these little kids being better than I ever was. But that was great, I'd rather listen to her than all this new stuff today.
@@Zuungieit's a foot technique. Can be done with a regular single pedal. Looks like she uses the foot swivel technique. You also have heel-toe and foot slide techniques. Swivel is a variation of foot slide.
I was in a sad place, but seeing you, Yoyoka Soma, playing this (one of the favourite songs from my youth) and seeing how happy you are playing it, and playing it so very, very well... this made me feel so much joy that I cried. Usually you do that with a heel toe technique but her heels don’t even reach the ground. this is amazing
All I know is I'm a drummer myself, been playing since I was about 8 yrs old and I'm 51 now and Bonzo was a huge influence on me and my playing. I can tell you it took me a long time to master this song to my liking!! And I was in my twenties!! What this young lady is doing at 8yrs young to this song is nothing short of friggn incredible!!! It's not exact but hey you got to make it your own cause nobody will ever be John Bonham!! And this is dang close! Close enough for Rock n Roll as they say!!! Her parents should be proud cause she has a gift!!! Rock on young lady! Rock on!!!👍👏👏👏👏🤘🤘🤙

Thumbs down? WTH?!! I'm musician enough to admit after 30 plus years of playing I could never play that song 1/10th as well as her. She is truly gifted, get over it thumbs down people. BTW, most drummers stay away from playing Zeppelin/Bonham material 'in public' because Bonham is very hard to replicate, why do you think they stopped at his death? Me, I'm one of the dime a dozen drummers, passable but surely no protege like Yoyoka and Bonham.
