Tanaka who scored the goal and Mitoma who gave assist to him have been best friend since 6. They went to the same elementary and junior high school and shared the same dream; to make it to the World Cup. I have a hard time understanding people who criticize or mock Japan for playing defensive football. Spain and Germany are the best teams in the world. I think we should rather praise the strategy of the Japanese coach, who managed to withstand the offensive of such strong teams and win with an efficient counter attack.
