The fraud and charge backs are more protected with the chip readers - as fraudsters cannot clone a chip, while they can clone the old fashion magstripe.

Yes, Square does not support USB C - Square wants people to use the newer chip readers. Square is recommending people not to swipe cards in 2024.

I lost sales yesterday because the customer's magnetic strip was damaged. And Square reader has removed the link for manual entry of the card number. Any instructions on how to do manual entry?

We will look into this. We recommend having the buy tickets QR code printed and posted at your event, this way someone could scan it and buy tix right from their own device.
