National company HRO 500 HF oscillator band switch replacement considerations back side LC grounding

The HF Oscillator band switch wafer is the first wafer from the front of the receiver
toward the back.
The front facing part of the wafer looks to be in the business of selecting the correct LC
circuits.
The back part of the wafer looks to be a GROUNDING mechanism for grounding
LC circuits which are NOT needed for the desired band of operation.
In addition for position or Band #1 it looks to GROUND via a capacitor the VARACTOR part of the circuit as this must not be needed on Band #1?
