      Debatable. This really depends on the person. Also rural vs city carrier is quite different and can make a difference on whether someone would enjoy it or not. It's when you're a CCA or RCA that the job generally sucks because of the hours.

    I actually just took the assessment for PSE and I didn’t pass. I guess it was a blessing in disguise because I’m currently working at Walmart distribution center and I haven’t been happy working there. The weekends have been taking me away from spending time with family and the hours aren’t consistent. I’m going to apply for MHA and hopefully I pass. Thank you so much

      @@crlymia its not easy work ill tell you that much lol but if you like constantly moving around and doing different things it'll be manageable for you. Time flys at the post office so your shift will be over before you know it. I can't give you a specific thing the MHA does because they do ALOT of different things all in one day but I have adhd and cant sit still to same my life so its perfect for me. Plus its a constant workout so if you ever wanted to diet or anything the weight will fall of like butter, it WILL HAPPEN. I've lost 40 lbs since working there and i had given up on losing weight so I really like working lol... I'll say go for it and worst case scenario if you dont like it just quit.

    I was a CCA and MHA. I did. CCA first and let me tell you for me was hell. I live in Arizona and know that here we deal with 110°F-120F°in the summer. And you are out there in those WWI vehicles with just a tiny fan that doesn't do anything. And you are being track inch by inch because the newer scanners they give you they all have GPS in them. You don't have a route of your own. Everyday you get new routes. So is very hard to learn a route like that. Oh no #2 bathroom breaks. So CCA for me no more. MHA I really liked it. I like the fact that they don't just keep you in one spot. They moved you throughout the day. You can start receiving one day for like 3 hours, then you get moved to sacks for like 2 hours and then they moved you to do zip codes sorting. I like doing that. You are physically active and moving. I used to get a good workout and getting paid for. The one reason I left was the schedule. I worked from 9pm to 7am. Other than that was a great job. Right now I'm waiting to reapply again as soon as they start hiring for that position.

    Remember, in many places, mail handlers ONLY work in the plant. Clerks can work in a plant doing MANY jobs or at a post office - rural or city - doing distribution, retail, etc. So it depends what you want to do. Clerk has the most options compared to RCA, CCA, MHA, etc.

    Please ...for me....because now that I've watched 2 hours of your videos nonstop I care. 😃You mentioned being in so much pain from the job before. So this time when you go back if something starts to hurt ....try doing the tasks differently. Find a better way. And don't be shocked if your coworkers dont understand why you work differently. You know.....the ones who are walking around limping or hunched over. Those are the very ones who have never incorporated ergonomics. Don't accept that tired worn out way of thinking that Postal jobs = pain. You are so intelligent I know you've got this and I look forward to more stories.

After year full health insurance including dental, eye etc. PSE and MHA get the same on 360 deal just PSE get paid more cause if a PSE work 12 hrs days they get 19 the first 8 hrs 27 hr the 9th and 10th hrs and 11th and 12th are 37 hr. A MHA reappointed to a second 360-day term is alternatively eligible for coverage under the Federal Employees Health Benefits Program, but the full cost of such coverage would be the responsibility of the MHA without matching employer contributions. MHAs are encouraged to closely examine the financial implications of this decision before enrolling in a FEHB health plan.
      Also, currently available to all FEHBP eligible Mail Handlers, as well as all other federal and career postal employees, are supplemental dental and vision insurance programs offered through the Federal Employees Dental and Vision Insurance Program (FEDVIP). These plans are optional, with all premiums paid by the employee without any subsidy from the Postal Service. Questions can be addressed to the customer service representatives at 1-877-888-3337, or you can find more information, including enrollment details, at www.benefeds.com. The FEDVIP Open Season period also starts on November 12, and expires on December 10, 2018.
      Supplemental dental and vision plans also are sponsored by the Mail Handlers Benefit Plan (MHBP) and may be used by Mail Handlers who are members of the NPMHU even if they do not enroll in health insurance sponsored by the MHBP. More information on the MHBP supplemental plans is available at the MHBP website, www.mhbp.com, or at 1-800-254-0227.
      Second, Flexible Spending Accounts allow employees to set aside a portion of their pre-tax earnings for certain types of out-of-pocket health care expenses and dependent care expenses that may be incurred during the next year. FSAs are an excellent opportunity for mail handlers to save money for health care and dependent care, and all members are urged to investigate this program if you expect to have eligible expenses in these areas.
      If you don’t have an FSA, perhaps this is the year to try. Start small, if you like. But you can put up to $2,650 into a Health Care FSA and/or up to another $5,000 per family into a Dependent Care FSA. Using the FSA Program can give you significant tax savings. In basic terms, the FSA gives you a percentage discount (depending on your tax rate) on your out-of-pocket health care costs, such as braces, eyeglasses, hearing aids, deductibles, co-payments, prescription medication, and certain other expenses not covered by health insurance.
      The same is true for your dependent care costs, which can include day care at a center or from a private sitter; late pickup fees from child care, nursery school, and summer day camp; or adult day care for an elderly parent. The amount of money you put into an FSA is entirely up to you. Be advised, however, that you must utilize the majority of the funds in your FSA, or you could lose that money under newly adopted rules. Participants may carryover $500 of unused funds to the next year for the Health Care FSA. However, any unused balance above $500 will be forfeited at the end of the calendar year and you must re-enroll in FSAFEDS in order to take advantage of the carryover of unused funds. Enrollment can be done either online or by phone, similar to how employees currently enroll in Federal Employee Dental
      and Vision Program (FEDVIP). Visit www.fsafeds.com/ or call 877-FSAFEDS (372-3337) or TTY:866-353-8058 for additional enrollment details.

    I think you were just comparing the contracts you had from 2 positions that you worked for. I think each contract can be different. Example in Janaury, they will hire assitants for only 3 months, while in Feb they might decide they want to hire someone for 1 year. THat is just an example. You didn't really compare the tasks of the 2 jobs, which would make sense for the title of your video.

      @MarieAdventure  Před 3 lety +8

      If the position says 360, you have one year to prove yourself for a career position. You will have a 5 days off and that's the evaluation period. Perfect attendance will help a lot.

    Thank you for your videos. I recently applied for an MHA job, and have taken the Virtual exam. If I do eventually make it to an interview stage, I was wondering what I should wear. It may sound like a silly question, but I honestly am not sure. My first instinct for interviews is to wear dress pants & heels, but I don't want to come off as a diva. This is a very physical job, so I was wondering if I can wear jeans, a nice shirt, and sensible shoes. Or should I go ahead and dress up?

    I was just offered both positions. I did some research and I learned the opposite...that PSE mail processing clerk is a better choice if you intend to make it a career. I was told that as the PSE clerk after 80 days you get an evaluation. If you did well you will continue to work or be offered a full time slot. If you were not given a good evaluation then your done.
