amen, well said. I know it's late, but I can think of a great example of a questionable choice. like Sam and Dean joining forces with the British Men of Letters.
West: "I'm cute!" Misha: "No, you're not cute." West: "I am!" Misha: "You're not cute, West. They can say that but they are just kidding. You are not at all cute." Love it!
So many of you people are missing the WHOLE POINT. Yes, he is wasting food and yes of course there is a mess to clean up. But he spent about 25 or maybe 30 bucks on that food tops, and most dads today would use that money to buy their kids a video game and let the television parent them. THIS dad is spending time with his son, encouraging him to experiment, grow, and learn many different science and math concepts while also encouraging healthy self-confidence levels. And yes, I know what I am talking about-I have been a professional teacher and nanny for over 10 years. If you seriously watched this awesomeness and the only thing you can do is criticize the mess and the "waste" of food, then I feel very sorry for you. If more dads did things like this with their kids, the world would be a better place, full of healthy, confident adults. Cook on, West!!
I agree ! far better to have a few 'messy meals' and raise a child with a healthy interest in food and cooking so that when he grows up he won't have to live off ramen noodles and chips ( like most of my early 20's peer group :S)
In case anyone missed it... West's Pasta with Jam Sauce 5 inches of carrot juice So many tomato sauce (to taste) 10 strawberry jams 8 inches of fresh blackberries 3/4 bag goldfish crackers 1 whole apple with peel (-3 bites) Mix well Add 1/2 box uncooked pasta Mix some more Then remove some pasta Add 1/2 gallon of OJ Beat with electric mixer (extra points for creative use of electric mixer) to break up the goldfish and blackberries Then add 4 inches of a jar of spaghetti sauce Add one bag of Nestle toll house morsels Place it all in a large stock pot then add the other 1/2 box of pasta and cook over medium high heat. Meanwhile, pour popcorn in pan next to the sauce and don't use a lid so some of the popcorn lands in the pasta with jam sauce. Boil till pasta is al dente and sauce has a consistent orange-red color. Serve & Enjoy! ;)
Misha:Desperately pointing at thankgiving go to food and insisting on buying said food West: I do not confer to tradition, pasta with jam sauce all the way XDD
Misha: "The right amount of carrot juice is how much?" West: "5 inches." Misha: "5 inches of carrot juice, and then, how much of the tomato sauce are we putting in?" West: "So many." Misha: "So many, of the tomato sauce... and then for jam, what is the right amount of jam?" West: "Ten." Misha: "Ten." oh my god, I love it so much!
The best part of cooking with West, is Dad is with him the whole time to make sure he is not endangered in any way when it comes to sharp objects etc. They have fun together and West gets an early start to cooking for himself. very educational
How much carrot juice? 5 inches. How much tomato sauce? So many. How much jam? Ten. Ten. I laughed so much when West put in the apple and the bowl started spinning too!! I thought Mama Collins would be mad but she was actually recording some parts!!
Watched this with my 6-year-old son, he asked if I would make this for him one day... But we use the metric system, so I would have to convert inches to centimetres.
Hey Misha Collins, if at any point in life you read this I just want you to know that there isn't really a "right way" to parent. But as far as i'm concerned (Despite all the negative comments) you're doing a damn fine job. Thanks for spending time with your kids and providing them with the opportunity to experiment and use their minds. I don't feel the food was wasted. I don't feel you teach your kids bad manners. THEY ARE CHILDREN, and you are one of the few parents that allow them to be. Good for you.
This kid is gonna grow up and totally forget about this. Then, when he's thirty four years old, he'll be out to his anniversary dinner at the city's most prestigious Italian restaurant and as he's eating his pasta dinner, he'll say, "Y'know, darling, while I can see why this is the most prestigious Italian restaurant in the city, don't you think the sauce needs just a little something? Like, I dunno, maybe just a bit of strawberry jam, or fresh blackberries?" And then, during the awkward staring match this comment will instigate, he will wonder to himself, "Why would I say that?!?!"
Every time I see these videos I marvel at Misha's patience and ability to just let things happen to let West learn things organically. I would not be able to do it. Definitely wouldn't want to do the clean-up after.
Misha is literally the absolute best father, and these are awesome memories. Some day when West gets older they're going to look back on these videos, and they're going to laugh their asses off. Keep up the good work, Mr. Collins.
I was smiling serenely through the whole process, until West threw in the apple and placed half the beater outside of the bowl. I laughed way too hard. But when he let go of the beater I just gave in, I could not stop cackling madly. This episode was gold. By the way, if your child laughs the way Westy did when he was beating that concoction, consider yourself a successful parent. What a beautiful family.
Am I the only one who admires the way West and Maison are raised. I mean, I can't imagine them just sitting at home watching t.v or playing "educational" computer games all of the time. Misha and his wife (Sorry I don't know her name) actually take their time to actually RAISE their children and allow them to use their imagination a lot and get out of the house more. I have a feeling that children raised this way are gonna get far in life. This is just my opinion so if I offended anyone in anyway (I don't know how) I really am sorry. Have a good day/afternoon/evening/night/life. :D
I love how he isn't like other parents, who restrict what their child does in the grocery store. You want to eat a pack of blackberries in the store? Misha says go right ahead. This is the best way to bring a child up. Love these videos. :)
Alright, story time! Tonight, whilst eating dinner with my chef mother, we watched three of these episodes. To be perfectly frank, my mother's facial expressions made me laugh more than the actual video. (And that's saying something!) In the aftermath of this delightful cooking experience, my mother's endearing words at the sight of the kitchen counter were, and I quote, "That poor mother..." Upon seeing the actual product of said cooking experience, she made me leave the room with my laptop, saying "I have barely eaten all day, and I want to keep down what I have eaten. So leave. Go back to your room. Please. Never leave there again." In short, thank you Misha and West for cleansing me of familial obligations for the rest of eternity!
When the beater started going around by itself... When Misha caught that piece of popcorn mid-air and ate it... Just fantastic. We don't have Thanksgiving in Australia but I'm thankful for you guys and your cooking prowess!
Rebekah, the father is Misha Collins. He's an actor. He's possibly the kindest and most amazing man I have heard of. And he does this with his son, West, for fun. Their relationship is beautiful!
This is great parenting! He doesn't deny West of anything to buy nor does he complain about the mess. Most parents would freak out over little things like this. And also you can't say no that adorable face!
This is the RIGHT way to parent teaching your kid all of the things about shopping and making decisions. He leads him by the hand and we can see from this that West is a good kid with manners, and pretty well behaved for a little kid. Misha is spending time with his kiddo, and they try to give him free range within limits. This is a great way to build independence and creativity.
Whenever I feel troubled,
West Collins comes to me,
Speaking words of wisdom,
"So many."
Best comment EVER.
There will be an answer,
"So many."
When he lost control of the blender, I lost control of my laughter...
I was watching this in bed and was laughing so hard I woke my husband.
this is an actual representation of the show. castiel chasing sam and dean as they make questionable choices
Caitlyn Briggs Truer words have never been spoken
amen, well said. I know it's late, but I can think of a great example of a questionable choice. like Sam and Dean joining forces with the British Men of Letters.
Soo damm true
HA YESSSSSSSS
When he put only one of the beaters in and the bowl started spinning I couldn't stop crying. How is Misha so calm?! X'D
+The Devil's Senpai Well, it is episode THREE...
+The Devil's Senpai xD, i love his reaction, like West doing everything right! xD
He's calm because he has enough money to fix anything that might break
But he doesn't have a microwave😂
I can tell you how he's so calm, he works with Jared and Jensen.
Poor Misha. He REALLY wanted those cranberries
I think that this show needs some special guests like Jared and Jensen.
Or Mr. Sheppard. And have all of them be in character. Best cooking show ever.
KaregoAt ...then, rather than using the highly dangerous pasta sauce, they would legitimately burn each other's eyes out.
PLEASE !!! THAT WOULD BE LIKE " OMG CAS, I DIDN'T KNOW YOU HAD A CHILD !! OH WAIT THERE IS ANOTHER !!"
Mercedes Conde Then Cas would be like "THE PIZZA MAN THOUGHT ME HOW TO DO IT, DEAN"
Kevin M Abraham GENIUS :D
West: "I'm cute!"
Misha: "No, you're not cute."
West: "I am!"
Misha: "You're not cute, West. They can say that but they are just kidding. You are not at all cute."
Love it!
West: "No they're not kidding!"
Me as a parent
"That we can't cook because we don't have a microwave"
"Alright we can try"
"Sam isn't strong enough to handle Lucifer." "It's actually not that bad of a plan."
So many of you people are missing the WHOLE POINT. Yes, he is wasting food and yes of course there is a mess to clean up. If more dads did things like this with their kids, the world would be a better place, full of healthy, confident adults. Cook on, West!!
also it wasn't such a waste because they ended up eating it! (whether it tasted good or bad, haha)
I agree ! far better to have a few 'messy meals' and raise a child with a healthy interest in food and cooking so that when he grows up he won't have to live off ramen noodles and chips ( like most of my early 20's peer group :S)

Thank you ive been looking for this
Thanks
Thanks so much. I was wanting to make this for my family😂
You have done a great service
Thanks a bunch Patti, I must admit I kind of lost track there for a second when I realized the kitchen table closely resembled Verdun in 1916.
I love how Misha is silently losing it while West is pouring everything into the bowl lol
i vote misha for father of the year
Taylor Do Naaaah, Father of the Coming Millennia should be right
Misha collins and andrew schrock
misha collins and bat dad :)
Being the shoechef, you must put a lot of heart and sole into your cooking...
im 16 and my mom still doesn't let me choose what I want for dinner, let alone shop and cook it.
God bless you Mish.
I'm 19 and my mom is the same way. You learn to stop asking.
Olivia Mary 28 and my mom is very possessive of her kitchen and what goes on it.
Im 17 and either i cook something for myself or i go for a takeaway or mum cooks something, but usually she asks me what she asks my opinion.
I've been a cook since I was 5. Now I'm cooking hour long meals for my family.
Paula Jones Oh you British, with your mums and your takeaway.
"You're not cute West, people say that but you are not at all cute." Misha kills me XD
As soon as the mixer started spinning the bowl by its self i lost it omfg
It's the best part cause it kinda works if you held the bowl in place haha x
Misha:Desperately pointing at thankgiving go to food and insisting on buying said food
West: I do not confer to tradition, pasta with jam sauce all the way XDD
Misha: "The right amount of carrot juice is how much?"

West: "So many."
Misha: "So many, of the tomato sauce... and then for jam, what is the right amount of jam?"
West: "Ten."
Misha: "Ten."
oh my god, I love it so much!
Stella K When Misha looks at the camera when he says ten, he looks so done
He's such a good sport about it too >.
I'm always impressed by how well he keeps a straight face omg
You have to be able to in order to play Castiel XD
"If the pizza man truly loves the baby-sitter, then why does he keep slapping her rear end?"
West is getting more sassier as he gets older! haha
I truly believe West has the potential to destroy the world with that electric whisk.
The best part of cooking with West, is Dad is with him the whole time to make sure he is not endangered in any way when it comes to sharp objects etc. They have fun together and West gets an early start to cooking for himself. very educational
This man is a gift from god himself
You didn't hear? He IS God.
quite literally
Petition for West to play an angel alongside his dad.
Parenting done right. Let your kids express themselves and explore by trying things on their own. This is too precious.
West is a trendsetter. Since this video came out, for every question of quantity the answer is always, "So many."
How much does college cost "so many"
thats why im here, lel
5 inches
West has grown soooo much.. He's even talking properly now.. And maison is a cutie pie...Too much cuteness in one video
I like that he basically lets West make all the decisions. It'll boost his self confidence as he grows up, to know he can do anything.
Omg I lost it when west put down the beater when it was still on
How much carrot juice?
5 inches.
How much tomato sauce?
So many.
How much jam?
Ten.
Ten.
I laughed so much when West put in the apple and the bowl started spinning too!! I thought Mama Collins would be mad but she was actually recording some parts!!
- What is the right amount of jam?
- 10
WEST AND MAISON I'M OVERWHELMED BY THE ADORABLENESS. Also, look at how dark West's hair has gotten.
A++++ parenting. Part of me hopes that West will now grow up to be a chef of some sort.
This needs to happen on a weekly basis, I can't stop laughing.
Watched this with my 6-year-old son, he asked if I would make this for him one day... But we use the metric system, so I would have to convert inches to centimetres.
also convert so many into so much
The stifled laughter of the adults in the background was the best.
Round of applause for Misha for actually eating that and not looking disgusted!
well the man Is an actor for a reason I suppose
Hey Misha Collins, if at any point in life you read this I just want you to know that there isn't really a "right way" to parent. He ate it. What a good dad. XD
I love that misha is using his actor-skillz not to crack up xD
West is my man when it comes to cooking, "A LOT" is always the right measurement! Just love for both of you!
"leme just sit ON YOUR HEAD" omg I'm dying.
Five inches of carrot juice and so many of the tomato sauce
And 10 jam.
yes, 10 jam.
One day, I hope to be as gifted in the culinary arts as West Collins.
Not even a minute into the video, I lost it at "pasta with jam sauce" ...
This is one of the best videos on youtube
Sherlocksashadowhunter amazing.
dad of the year
"I'm cute!" I'm glad you know that, West.
"How much exactly?" "A lot" and then "How much?" "5 inches"
"So many"
😊😂😂😊

+Ri Sch Either that or "man, this sauce is great, but it could really use some goldfish, perhaps a half-eaten apple..."
this is awesome, that kid will be one powerful Nephilim when he grows up, harnessing the power of pasta and jam sauce
Every time I see these videos I marvel at Misha's patience and ability to just let things happen to let West learn things organically. I would not be able to do it. Definitely wouldn't want to do the clean-up after.
let's just take a moment to realize this kid is going to grow up and watch these videos.
omg the recipe at the end is everything!!! "..beat vigorously with one beater inside the bowl and one outside" :'D i'm laughing so hard rn :'D
Misha is literally the absolute best father, and these are awesome memories. Some day when West gets older they're going to look back on these videos, and they're going to laugh their asses off. Keep up the good work, Mr. Collins.
Misha, you win all the parenting awards!
I was smiling serenely through the whole process, until West threw in the apple and placed half the beater outside of the bowl. I laughed way too hard.

West's face. xD
I want Misha as a dad. xc
Caroline Lee God Bless

Her name is Vicki, and I agree 100% (:
Sofia Dinges Yes I remember now! Thanks :D
I love how he isn't like other parents, who restrict what their child does in the grocery store. You want to eat a pack of blackberries in the store? Misha says go right ahead. This is the best way to bring a child up. Love these videos. :)
Every parent should have to do this at least once by law. I think the world would be a better place.
*west picks up box of popcorn*
misha : that we can't cook cause we don't have a microwave
*west puts it in the trolley anyway*
God bless this family.
West is one creative kid
These parents have the patients of a saint.
Well he IS an angel after all ;)
Alright, story time!

This is the cutest thing because he actually eats it, like he supports his kid and I just... awwww.
My face hurts from all the laughing.
Just a little cooking tip everyone words of wisdom by West Collins.
"No if you put a lid on it, it will cook slower!"
I love West's face of "damn what the heck did I cook?" when he's eating
Misha is one of the best fathers out there
Possibility of electric shock is actually an expression of sincere fatherly concern
When the beater started going around by itself... When Misha caught that piece of popcorn mid-air and ate it... Just fantastic. We don't have Thanksgiving in Australia but I'm thankful for you guys and your cooking prowess!
How is it even humanly possible to have this amount of patience...
Okay so the "how much" starts at 5:10. You're welcome.
Thank you X3
Thanks man
Sometimes I cannot believe that these are real people. I love it!
WHAT IS WRONG WITH THOSE PARENTS?!?!?!
Rebekah, the father is Misha Collins. He's an actor. He's possibly the kindest and most amazing man I have heard of. And he does this with his son, West, for fun. Their relationship is beautiful!
This is soooo cool!!! I wanna try pasta and jam sauce :D
it's great you let your kids explore what they want as children, it creates an imagination when you don't limit them. :)
omg this is the best show ever. why haven't i been watching this?!
"How much of the tomato sauce are we putting in?"
"... So many.."
these are always the best. i pity your poor kitchen. thanks, Misha you have an awesome family
West sure got creative with this one. I can only imagine how delicious this was.
:D West is adorable. But I'm not sure if I'd want to eat his...uh....concoction. But he's still ADORABLE! And he's making such a mess hehehehe
Parenting gone right. Wonderful kid.
a good chef must eat the food while he is shopping.
this is absolutely adorable! Thank you for letting you kid be just that...a kid. So many people worry about the mess they are going to make
i'm crying of laughter this is the best thing i've ever seen
I really hope my future husband will be a Dad like this :)
This is parenting done good! Can't wait for the next episode :)
I can barely contain myself, this is so amazingly adorable. This is off the charts cute.
This is great parenting! He doesn't deny West of anything to buy nor does he complain about the mess. Most parents would freak out over little things like this. And also you can't say no that adorable face!
This makes me unreasonably happy. "So you think that maybe adding the pasta to the sauce was a... was a bad idea?"
"You're not cute West. People say that but they're just kidding."
It seems very expensive to let your child be creative. XDI love misha for letting him do this.
this is the funniest thing ive ever seen in my life
At about 6:45 I screamed "The goldfish are being massacred and that is their blood!"
I'm 22 years old.
Maybe I should get out of the house more.
At least West at it instead if being picky. That's probably one of the best kids out there
I'll definitely remember this recipe for the next time I want a quick delicious meal. Thanks, West!
I'll never be over how adorable the Collins are
This is the RIGHT way to parent teaching your kid all of the things about shopping and making decisions.
