Cubicolor present their debut album - ‘BRAINSUGAR’ - to be released on September 16th on Anjunadeep (“One of the hottest electronic labels in the world” - Hype Machine).
Cubicolor have emerged as one of the most exciting acts to come through the European underground in recent times. Championed by Pete Tong as one of his artists to watch, praised by Mixmag, Spin, Clash, and DJ Mag, and supported by a host of heavyweight DJs, Cubicolor look set to break through with their anticipated debut LP.
The striking and alternative sound developed across a string of acclaimed EPs on Anjunadeep and a remix for Howling (Âme’s Frank Wiedemann & Ry X) on Monkeytown Records has found it’s way into the sets of many an A-list DJ, including Sasha, George Fitzgerald, Kölsch, Joris Voorn and Mano Le Tough.
Having launched in 2014 with two members, Dutch producers Ariaan Olieroock and Peter Kriek, Cubicolor now welcome British vocalist , and former Duologue front-man Tim Digby-Bell into the band as their third member, following much loved collaborations on ‘Falling’ and ‘Mirror Play’ over the past 12 months. In his time with Duologue, Tim produced, co-wrote and sang on two records acclaimed by the likes of The Guardian, NME, DIY Mag and The Line Of Best Fit.
On ‘Brainsugar’ we hear an evolution in Cubicolor’s sound across a host of diverse and infectious tracks, combining beautiful songwriting with brilliantly cohesive clarity, echoing their influences; Radiohead, Massive Attack and Moderat to name a few. Tim’s lyrical depth and haunting vocal style shine throughout the album, which features 8 vocal tracks and 4 instrumentals.
The LP’s first single ‘Falling’ is a cascading piece of melancholic house music, which has amassed over 4 million plays on Spotify, topped Beatport’s Electronica chart, and been featured on global specialist radio (including BBC Radio 1, BBC 6 Music, KCRW, KEXP, SiriusXM Chill, 1Live, Rai 2, 3FM and Studio Brussels).
Released alongside the announcement of the album, ‘Dead End Thrills’ is a fusion of Cubicolor’s trademark sounds, blending trippy atmospheric electronica, layered with textured melodies with Tim’s poignant vocals.
Throughout August and September 2016 Cubicolor bring their well-honed electronic sound to venues large and small across North America for a DJ tour, including a string of underground club shows and notable festival performances at Electric Zoo and Nocturnal Wonderland where they perform on Anjunadeep label stages alongside the likes of Âme, George Fitzgerald, Lane 8, HVOB, Henrik Schwarz and Yotto. Cubicolor are currently developing a full live show to be launched later this year.
‘Brainsugar’ is set to be the seventh artist album to be released on Anjunadeep, an A&R hotbed celebrated for the release of debut LPs from Dusky and Lane 8. With 250+ single releases and a string of iTunes #1 albums and compilations under its belt, the label has distinguished itself as one of the scene’s leading imprints, earning glowing coverage everywhere from Resident Advisor to Pitchfork, whilst receiving heavy support on BBC Radio 1 from Annie Mac, Pete Tong, B.Traits and Phil Taggart.

An almost jazz like meeting of the acoustic drums with the drummachine/software towards the end and what unison... The piano is all classicsal, so composed, so mature.. all this in an electronica form, truly a genre transcending piece... A rarity now, a rarity forever. Greatly respect the musicianship.
Look forward to hearing this at Ziggo Dome!
Looking forward to hearing all of your new music too!
A very special new single from what's shaping up to be a very special album.
You were right

"It’s very easy to shut off your brain when someone presents a band and tells you they sound like Radiohead or Massive Attack. After all, those are some lofty comparisons to make, which leaves any such remark seeming spurious. But stick with us, because Cubicolor really earn those descriptors, and you’re gonna want to hear this." consequenceofsound.net/2016/09/cubicolor-share-bewitching-new-single-fictionalize-listen/
I always love what they do ,but the music is little bit turning to something different than their remix for X machina or falling or down the wall etc hope you guys get my point - thanks for the good music any ways
Approved by all the arsenal of Anjuna. Anjunadeep+
I have been a Radiohead and Massive Attack fan for a long time. Cubicolor has attained that status for me. Thank you for this album.
Add Unkle to your Collection
Lol!! Please. Leave Radiohead & Massive Attack out of this, it only turns me off from checking this group out further when I hear ridiculous things like that.
shivers down my spine at 3:45. just a few more days till release day.. counting the hours!
The anjunadeep remix of this song is how I got into Cubicolor. And I'm so glad I did. Listening to all their work has been one of the best therapy in the last couple of years. Thank you guys for all your work. Please keep it coming.
A true masterpiece, love both their albums.
These guys are the definition of making a new mold.

Dying is the process of free falling from the peak of everyones life: Birth. Luckily it loops & resets. Our current life lasts as long as the eye percieves a shooting star put into the context of the objective universal existence. #Wedreamdeep
I made it right to the edge.
Whatever I said.
Each beginning to its end.
A beautiful diamond in the rough, from which Lindstrøm and Prins Thomas then cut a dazzling, blindingly brilliant diamond.
So good
amazing.
Amazing!
Will be out a remix? the sound is so different from the version in the Cubicolor - DHA Mixtape #206
Magic

Как это можно найти в вк
Имею ввиду именно эту версию
Please lyric!!!!
Another scene in it before i'd seen it
Can you feel it?
I told you the truth, I just didn't mean it
Did you know this?
I fictionalise, thinly disguise
I mean it
In comes the night, stretching so hard
In between us
In between us
I did not lie
I did not lie
Made you up whenever I liked
I did not lie
I did not lie
Gave you up without even a fight
So many times
So many times
So many times
So many times
No new names, no new faces
All of our scars in all the same places
I just fictionalise, thinly disguise
I mean it
In comes the night, stretching so hard
In between us
In between us
I did not lie
I did not lie
Made you up whenever I liked
I did not lie
I did not lie
Gave you up without even a fight
So many times
So many times
I hid you there at the back of my mind
So many times
So many times
But I made it right to the edge
Whatever I said
Whenever I said
Each beginning to it's end
Whatever I said
Whenever I said
But I made it right to the edge
Whatever I said
Whenever I said
Each beginning to it's end
Each beginning to it's end
weeds
😭😭😭😭💘💘💓😭😭😭

Topovo

This is a nice track, but I'm looking for something that has the impact of 'Got this feeling' - Now that is a belter
"Got This Feeling" is sophomoric compared to followup EPs including this. I'd qualify that as more of a dancefloor track whereas this is a more complete composition.
I disagree Vinnie, This is like a tasty starter, but never gets to the main course
I have a feeling the album is going to continue in that fashion (abbreviated tracks, perhaps seemingly undeveloped but intended for easier mass consumption).
If you're expecting anything more from this song, then you're not listening to it for what it is. This album isn't a collection of House tracks, it's an artist album. It's in the same category as Lane 8's 'Rise', or Andrew Bayer's 'If It Were You, We'd Never Leave'. Just throw on headphones and close your eyes and enjoy the music. If you really want a house version of this song download a DAW and speed this shit up to 122bpm.
Having since heard the album, I have to agree. There are ambient interludes and downtempo pieces along with acoustic electro indie actual songs that are plenty developed (even if they utilize a verse-chorus structure). The artist album is a dying breed, so I'm glad Cubi delivered a fine specimen with their debut.
this versión anjunadeep 100 live is crazy. i she dontlike
Radiohead, isn’t it?🤔
The track is fkn amazing, but the vocals are too much and shit
