Fine men, fine men indeed, broad shouldered, tall, straight as a die, and comparing the Gardai standing around, most of them are over 6ft tall...Some of them are veterans of the war of independence, the civil war...and maybe 1916...I wouldn't mess with any of them...salute from Galway...

Some big lads in that procession, from the same cut as Michael Collins, and the grim faces say it all.

a BANSHEE or shadow creature is captured at around 57 seconds in the background... this is an INCREDIBLE bit of footage.. the arms & legs are so abnormally long and curvy... the thing of nightmares

Ha, CZcams put this on my list of recommended videos. It probably figured that geographically, I was close to Ballina and would probably be interested in some historical footage of a town near me.
Well, it was right - kinda. I live very close to Ballina...............Australia!! This is clearly footage from Ballina in Ireland. It took me a little while to work it out, I kept thinking; where is the ocean and the beautiful girls in bikinis and the Holden station wagons with surfboards hanging out of the tail gates or on the roof racks? All of which would have been typical of Ballina, Australia, in 1966. Not to mention, sunburnt kids licking dripping ice creams with towels wrapped around their waiste's walking barefooted on scorching footpaths while seagulls swooped, searching for unguarded hot, salty, chips. Ah, those were the days! Thanks, CZcams ......for the memories! Believe it or not, I'm Irish by descent.
