Lil sis I love your appreciation and gratitude for those who came waaaaaaaaayyyyy before you.....salute...my hat off....a female into lyrics as well...
Krayzie Bone has said that one of the inspirations of the Bone thugs-n-harmony flow was Big Daddy Kane, who also happens to be one of Krayzie Bone’s favorite rappers.
That's right. I'm 53 and just got to Job Corp. I was 18 when I heard of this song and fell in love with bdk. Seen him in concert. Oh The memories. Music will never b this way again. I was glad I lived in this era of music.
When this came out summer 88' ... THE RAP GAME WAS CHANGED FOREVER. This set the tone for the entire golden age to come. The ominous yet playfull beat was so HARD and the lyrics had more rhyme scheme and wordplay than just about anything human ears had heard before. THIS IS WHY IMO KANE IS THE GOAT OF HIP-HOP. He was a battle MC than even had Rakim ducking him bc he knew Kane would tear him apart in a battle. KANE, RAKIM, KRS-ONE... Thats my 3 greatest rappers/MC's of all-time. Then you can throw in guys like Lil Wayne, Jay-Z, Eminem, Tupac, Biggie, Kool G-Rap, Ol Dirty Bastard, Nas, etc...KANE, RAKIM, KRS-ONE WERE NOT EXACTLY THE FIRST TO DO IT... BUT THE FiRST TO SET THE BAR WHICH IS STILL THE STANDARD OF FLOW.
One of the Greatest and highly evolved lyrical giants. I'm grateful to had to the experience of seeing and hearing him live in my lifetime. Thank you Queen for your open mind and ear. Keep up the listening for the historic icons. My recommendation for your next video is De la Soul plug Tunin original version or The Bizness.
"Young,Gifted & Black" - Big Daddy Kane "Smooth Operator" - Big Daddy Kane "Not Gonna Be Able To Do It" - Double XX Posse "Make Some Noise" - Double XX Posse "Ruff,Rugged & Raw" Double XX Posse "It's Going Down" - EPMD "Uptown Anthem" - Naughty By Nature "The Second Coming" - Nas
If you react to Big Daddy Kane.....You gotta react to some Eric B. and Rakim!! Or just Rakim!! "Microphone Fiend ", "Follow the Leader","Let the Rhythm Hit Em"! Love me some BDK but Rakim still the God M.c.!
The visuals in the music video are still impressive, even by today's standards. From the intense stare-down between the two main players, to the card game played in the center of a boxing ring that captivated spectators. The track itself serves as the perfect cherry on top.
Just discovered your channel. Love your personality. Would love to see you react to another Pharcyde song called Drop. Or The Alkaholics song called the next level featuring Diamond D. Thank you
Some how Kane don't get mentioned with Rakim but for me Kane was the man. Rakim 🔥 but Kane was my guy, smoove punch line heavy back when Djn was a major part of the song
52-year-old white man here and this is one of my favorite artists from when I was a teenager.

Kool Moe Dee - I go to work!
Listen to his slow jam
Go check out the video too!
Rest in peace or how you get a record deal
JT You know this generation rappers should be ashamed of what they called rap music!
# I guess it's all for clout
Yo Big Daddy Kane's rhymes scheme reminds me of Eminem....Did Eminem take his style from Big Daddy Kane?
Yes along with other lyrical greats. If you study everyone before you and bring your own talents to the table, you can almost guarantee success.
Ive heard Eminem give Kane props before but he sounds more like Masta Ace Especially in his earlier records
React to Apache Gangsta Bitch!
🖤❤️💚
