I always believe Snsd, Suju and SHINee can't be compared to anything or anyone. There's something about them as a groups. Back then, views is nothing as long as we can see them sing in a music show, played in variety show and acting in drama. As long as they're happy, we're happy.

nct always being called "THE" flops of SM ent. they were the most hated SM group since debut (especially nct's leader), but breaking a 25 year old SM record in 2021 really showed the haters how much impact they have. growing slowly and just getting bigger and bigger every year through hard work makes me proud.

I said *group* activities meaning comebacks, variety shows, photoshoots, CFs any form of work the members do as a group, not their solo projects.

@@makoy2148 in fact i don’t think SM have neglected them, but giving then some space to developed their own solo career and individual interest. for 9years they have been working hard as a group, while waiting for the member enlisting each one of them have solo activities which is good for their own individual success and enjoyed resting. maybe SM should have promote a bit more to increased the viewers but again they are smart also not to spend too much money investing but known still get the effective results cause Exo are already established worldwide

It’s kinda upsetting how f(x) just never made it. I remember discovering them and loving every single one of their songs. They didn’t receive the hype they deserved
Apparently f(x) is an experimental group that’s why their music are not well appreciated enough in Korea, but they undoubtedly influence and impact Kpop a lot for their style and concept. When people talk abt f(x) in general, they are more like ahead with their concept and style. Electric shock in 2012 was a huge hit tho, f(x) didn’t make it big compare to boy groups and girls generation, but they are not as shit as we seen from the data here, f(x) were huge in Western country and China. Like f(x) was the first kpop group who got invited to perform at SXSW in Texas, US & collaborated with Anna Kendrick at 2012.
Nonetheless, their physical album sales was always top 2 after Girls Generation among all girl groups tho. Tbh they are more well known for their concept and style wise, just like how Electric shock in 2012, the contact lens and the Edm music. With f(x) first wore that “school uniform” concept for rppp (pink tape) promotion, they are actually trending in Korea with their style, specifically the “tennis skirt” trend among girl groups only start to trend after f(x) wore it, it was called “Krystal’s skirt” that time. When f(x) were promoting and growing in 2013, sm decided to put EXO promote Growl with f(x) at the same time, with the “school uniform” concept as well. That’s why there is a lot f(exo) moment in 2013, they were promoting together.
EXO hits crazily BIG in Korea & China with Growl, which EXO-K & EXO-M promoting together as ONE in 2013. With a lot drama exposure, the JK reality show, f(x) were almost gonna hit huge in 2014 with Red light album and a repackage album, however there are rumours saying that the K gov stop f(x) promotion (fx has 2 weeks promotion only) idk is true or not but a lot ppl were claiming it’s true cos Red light was a song criticising K government w the Sewol incident. It’s the first song released to criticise K gov after 3 months the Sewol incident happened. Red light wasn’t actually the title track for 2014 promotion, the changed the whole concept and decide to go for it. The song writer didn’t admit it when they are promoting, only admitted after 3 yrs, at that time endless rumours spreading all over korea, as the Sewol incident was awful. Additionally Sulli halted f(x) red light promotion due to health conditions & preferable as Actress (why not I mean, do whatever u want bb 💜), then stupid rumours all over again with her private life :( She was HAPPY that time, the netizens are hypocrites ugh (still hating on the netizens who can’t get a life and always try to bring down ppl like they nvr fuckin learned)
F(x) only come back once a year at most, usually more like 1.5 years for once comeback. F(x) and EXO were actually really huge in China, like since 2012 - 2015, it was claimed by one of the most highly respected artist in China’s music industry. This is why EXO and f(x) often invited and attending China’s schedule those years. The 4 walls was amazing too, the day when f(x) announced a comeback with 4 walls album, it even shifts SM’s stock to the highest record in 2015!! Ya then eventually a lot of things happened w f(x) since then, w the THAAD issue, and a lot a lot things are the reason why f(x) never made to the TOP.
Well, the timing and the marketing strategy were one of the reasons why they were unable to reach top tier. Sm didn’t let f(x) promote at Western countries, when their music was loved and appreciated by them. A good example will be when f(x) attending Kcon Paris 2016, they got the loudest applause when a lot Kpop groups were there. The most crazy thing is when they attended the London Korea festival, it’s like ZOMBIE APOCALYPSE. SCARY. After f(x) finished performing, 2/3 of the crowds left. Then yeah, with sm put them on hold all these years, finally my girls are free, and I wish them endless happiness cos that’s what they truly deserved.
