    Absolutely love it there and it's Scott's favorite! Next time (and if you're there longer which let's hope!) we've always found it's way quicker to find the exterior stairs and actually go outside to get to and from your room. Our first stay there was a week and we found the shortcut on our last day. Because of course we did. Great video, Bekah!

    Yay! My absolute favorite resort. So I’ve stayed in studios at SSR, AKL, BW, and the Poly. Yacht Club is my 10 year old son and I absolute favorite resort. The rooms are gorgeous and spacious, the pool is great, the resort is the perfect size, location is amazing, and I can often find rooms for as cheap as 250 a night.
    I didn’t love the food options. But I rarely eat at my resort and it’s simple enough to access transportation for resort hopping to find food. This was the first Disney deluxe resort I stayed at that felt like a 4 star hotel. A lot of the time I feel like I’m strictly paying for location. Also. I can pay dvc rental point prices and get 2 actual beds in my room.

      Bekah is right, Ale & Compass breakfast buffet is awesome. Dinner is excellent also. Yachtsman Steakhouse has some DELICIOUS steaks, we love to eat there for a great steak dinner. The Market is great for quick in and out food options as Bekah pointed out... and Hurricane Hannah's Pool Bar is awesome as well. Very friendly bartenders, great drink options, great quick food options to eat by the pool on a pool day. Can't go wrong with any of them. Boardwalk and Beach Club food options just a walk away as well.

    @nycp1969 Před 2 lety

    I stayed at Yacht Club in 2012 and wasn't overly impressed, mainly for the reasons you and others have stated. I felt it didn't have the grandeur of GF or the theming of Poly, BW and others. I also wasn't hugely taken by Stormalong Bay, and I'm an enthusiastic pool person. I always felt like I was in people's way. Everything seems like a passway because of the lazy river aspect, which I also didn't like very much. It was over my head most of the time. I liked the slide a lot, but it was a bother to get to. Interrstingly, I stayed at Beach Club two months ago and had pretty much the same impression of Stormalong, but I did like BC better. I'm not sure it rises to the level of child-friendly fun that you said, but it is definitely more of a casual elegance. I like the vintage Cape May vibe better than the stuffy, harborside vibe at YC. Glad you had fun!

      @BekahHart  Před 2 lety +1

      Thankfully this resort has improved A LOT over the past 10 years 🙌🏼☺️ And I completely understand what you mean about the pool. Unless you are camped out in 1 spot all day, getting around to different sections of the pool can be tricky to maneuver 🤪 And I would absolutely still choose the Beach Club for kids, but based on our recent stay, I was surprised to feel how welcoming the Yacht Club felt for kids! ☺️

    • @williamcathcart387
      @williamcathcart387 Před 2 lety

      Maybe it's just me, but I don't understand how some people find it to be "stuffy" .. everything is close together so you don't have to walk far, it's elegant and beautiful but less fancy and expensive-feeling than a place like Grand Floridian for example.

  • @alwaysplanningdisney3214

    This was on my list! It got beat out by Boardwalk though (similar perks of location but more affordable) and then DVC point rental took a turn and I gave up. Made a whoooole episode about that quick change. But I'm still keeping Yacht Club on my list of future possibilities for sure; thanks for the info! - M

    • @BekahHart
      @BekahHart  Před 2 lety +1

      Ooo yes, it’s tough when you’re comparing paying cash for a room the Yacht Club to using/renting points at the Boardwalk. I’m a DVC point rental addict 😂 But if you can find a good deal at the YC, go for it! 😍

    We were there last week and our experience wasn't nearly as good as your though. I'm thinking it would have been better as an adult only location. • @williamcathcart387

    I don't know, 10 min walk to the farthest room is a bit of a stretch.. plus, This resort is actually not spread out at all compared to other resorts where you might have to walk uncovered outside from your building to the main building for 25 min practically (Saratoga, Riverside, etc.)

    • @BekahHart
      @BekahHart  Před 2 lety

      Resorts like Saratoga and Old Key West are a whole different story. But at YC, if you have a stroller and little ones, and you’re staying in the furthest room away from the lobby, it would be a 10 minute walk for us no question 😅

    • @williamcathcart387
      @williamcathcart387 Před 2 lety

      @@BekahHart Yes that's true. I didn't think about the stroller and toddler factor lol but that's a good point. On another note, I just can't wrap my head the comments about YC feeling "stuffy" like some have said.. it's such an amazing resort. It's classy but not as upscale or fancy as Grand Floridian, it's got amazing dining options that are all delicious from The Market to A&C and Yachtsman, the pool is the best outta every resort at DW hands down, proximity to parks is top notch.. I literally have zero complaints about it. I've stayed at about 15 of the 25 resorts that DW has to offer and YC has become the go-to every time for us now. Other resorts have a lot of great things to offer but a water view at YC checks alllll the boxes for us. Glad you enjoyed staying there, Bekah !
