This has got to be one of the best repair channels I have ever seen. Well done.
Thanks. Watch out, there's a lot of weird stuff out there in the void
Such an ingenious repair by a highly skilled and knowledgeable guy, yet little views and subs. you deserve so much more. I've learned so much from you than all CZcams speaker repair channels combined. Keep up the excellent work Sir.
Would love to know how you re-connect the spider.
Glue. Just like the rubber surround.
You are the “Don” of speaker repairs 👏 “Near enough for Government work” 😂
Enjoyed the video!
Great work!!!
Well, I have just been quoted £450 for a replacement tweeter for a SF Amator II. That my friends, is a joke for what is probably a Scan Speak 19mm silk sealed unit. Well, it’s not going to be sealed for much longer. I am going to see just what is so magical about this little thing, and (hopefully) find a way of repairing it with the guidance of this CZcams channel.
Just as an update. I did indeed cut apart my SF tweeter, and fitted a new voice coil (a branded Scan Speak). Tweeter now function once again. It cost a bit less than SF’s £450 replacement. How much less? It cost me £13 plus a couple of hours work
Very cool
Sonus Faber sourced most of their components back in those days from scan speak. Sometime around 2013 they started making their own drivers. I’m curious as to how you glued the spider
Thank you for the tip. I have one that is intermittent and that would fit with your findings. Note that I just re coned a professional celestion woofer and it was built with the same lead entry point 1/3 up the paper. It must be a European thing.
Note that Sonus faber doesn’t make those drivers.
How did you align the spiders?
Experience Experience Experience
Please where can i buy the tension leads dome and the glue. Thank you
Nice tutorial. There's nothing special about SF construction despite the arm and a leg they charge for the things....
You have done a remarkable job Sir ...After you reinstall the drivers i would throw both the Sonus Faber in the bin as you said poor design total rubbish .No disrespect to you Sir.
Good day Sir, i was wondering if you do accept speaker repair, i do have a SF signum that went bad, crackling noise on the woofer when i turned the volume up, i appreciate any help i ca get.
Contact information can be found in the video's description.
How much you charge for this sir ?

Poor quality design by Sonus Faber. Ah, those Italians!!! For the price of their speakers, the quality should be impeccable. Thanx for the video.
The drivers are made by Scan-Speak. This failure is an easily avoidable design flaw. I like a lot of the Vifa, Seas, And Scan-Speak drivers and have used thousands of their drivers building and restoring speaker systems. Would a corporation build in an intentional flaw to shorten the life of a product to increase total sales? Would they want people like me around to tell you about it? We are being put down by this current Economic Takedown. How will we Survive? HELP!
@@texasound1 Its called planned obsolescence, like everything else these days:(
and to think they charge thousands of dollars for these speakers lol
A lot of money for a overpriced piece of junk speaker with poor engineering. This guy knows more than the designer.
Finally Italian become a Chinese... Nice design from the outside but Poor engineering & bad reliability product.
