it's different at every school! mine (ucf) is just the night before recruitment
Rushing sounds like such an amazing experience! I’m considering it since I’ll be a college freshman Fall 2018 and you make it seem so much more personal than what I’ve heard; definitely considering it now!

This was a great video and I've seen a lot of these! I go to FSU and I didn't rush this year bc I wanted to get a feel of things. And I know you go to UF and it's a little different but it's nice to hear your point of view from a school relatively close to FSU

At my school (we're a Big10 school) our rho gammas actually tell their groups what house they're in before rush begins! This is because we had a huge epidemic of dirty rushing, I know it's not super common (or at all!)

Hi! One thing I've always wondered about sororities is how recruitment week lines up with your school schedule. I've always been someone who tries not to skip classes, and I'm worried that I would have to during rush. At my university, rush is a full week long, meaning that I would definitely have to skip class at some point or another.
When does rush week happen (1st week of school, beginning of semester, etc?)
Is there someone I would be able to talk to to be excused on certain days or times?

Yvette Mae Navera No! Most sororities will work with you. They know most of us have jobs. You just need to be at all the ones you can!!

I would say don't suicide houses either. Your ideal house may not be the one that you are gunning for. The best house for you may be a different house.
We had Rho Chis. Mine was in the org I ended up joining. All but 2 of my Rho group joined the same house. 😊

I'm currently a freshman at PSU and I'm thinking about rushing either this spring or during my sophomore year, but I'm scared that they won't accept me because I'm black. Any advice?
Any sorority that wouldn't want you because you're black is the kind of sorority you don't want. Many schools have sororities for african american and latino girls so if you are really worried about it, I would look into that. I have friends in both, but you shouldn't worry about it. There are so many sororities and odds are, you'll find one that works for you. Good luck!

Gloria Holly Like the above comment said, crying your eyes out in the good sense of the word. It's nothing like you think. You "cry your eyes out" because rituals are emotional, because of the sisterhood. And they're not the rituals you may be thinking of. Literally stop judging things you don't know and you will probably never get to experience;)
