The long past to brandon was never going to be an interception... The defender impeded the receivers route and that is why the flag was thrown.. Flag was picked up because the play resulted in more yards than the penalty would have.... It was never going to be an interception.

However, the reason the DB doesn't get a chance to catch it is because Aiyuk switches to playing defense, gets enough of a fingertip on the ball to hit the DB in The Face instead, then switches back to offense to catch the...

Apparently the Lion's kicker only has a 45% hit rate for field goals at that range whereas the Lions had something like a 75% conversion rate on 4th and 3 or less. If those numbers are true that would explain why they went for it. Mathematically going for it was the better option.

they could of kicked 2 fg....make the 49ers win the game...plus all the drops...Lions gave that game away....
True.... but the Lions last TD the 49ers were playing soft defense because they were up 10. The final drive might of been different if we were only up 7.
@@Kosmisch1987 I learned later that the Lions had a shaky FG kicker...So instead of taking 47 and 48 yard FG chances...i understand why they went for it there...If the lion would caught two passes one on 3rd and one on 4th that would of made the game tough...
