Sri Mariamman Temple

Established in 1827, Sri Mariamman is Singapore’s oldest Hindu temple dedicated to the goddess Mariamman.
In the past, the temple served as a place of refuge and shelter for newly arrived Indian immigrants, on top of its function as a place of worship.
Today, careful restoration of the national monument as well as the dedicated efforts of its leaders has anchored the the temple's role in caring for the community and fostering intercultural bonds.
