    What about just putting drywall over the old drywall on the ceiling? Avoiding blown insulation mess/time.

      Same..its going to take a while of recovery for me...those concrete walls are no joke!! The thick metal mesh def held the concrete together behind the tile and those old tiles..are almost twice as thick as current day... it hurt my soul to demo our old tile but there was water damage in the studs and it had to go.. hitting, hammering, drilling that concrete has caused me to wake up with numb arms and hands several times!!

      Normal updating and also..our bathroom had awesome looking tile like this..but..the area around the tub had been previously damaged and we couldn't see prior and ongoing water damage...so the outside looked great but inside the walls...well..they were crumbling...
