Great video, this comparison video was the exact type of video I used to choose my big aysim. I throw all the brands and this year for my big aysim I drilled a jackal ghost, Both being motiv is just coincidence. But the reason was on my search for a big aysim I was watching videos for other balls, like yours. That ball always came up as the comparison ball, it always looked better than the ball it was being compared to. Its an amazing ball. Best big aysim Iv ever thrown. There is a reason its been on sale for years and still on tv all the time. But I digress. This video highlights why good comparison videos like this one are so valuable to us consumers. Thanks.

No leagues in sawgrass, I sub sometimes.
The difference in hook isn't massive but it looks like the difference in the cores really affected the down lane performance. The shock still looks more versatile than the rattler and will still be the go to over it
Throw them both for several games and they look closer. But I don’t definitely do believe the core shapes are accounting for some amount of difference.
@thehype-bowling I disagree these balls were designed to do 2 different things. After secondary surfacing they become altogether some different from a customization standpoint. This now only leaves the purpose of the dedicated cover and core strength as to how either of these 2 may play to your needs. I love this channel and the content is always grade 1 production worthy. I am a new fan to Charles and "The Hype" bowling. I believe for comparisons like this there need be more of a preference based discussion to be had- Maybe go live. I am sure to be there. I'm a pretty loyal Motiv enthusiast but me and the Shock never really paired well. My game is rev dominant with decent speed, moderate axis rotation. The ball is very good at getting into a roll and moving when it sees friction. It can straighten out a little too much for me downlane leaving corners. Still putting games on it hoping that it'll calm down but for those with high axis rotation or have trouble missing the breaking, this is the ball.
I see the opposite for me. The ball only rolls more forward for me when i try to take my hand out of it and move right. Otherwise, it's a challenge to keep it right of the head pin. But my local bowling center is always dry as the Sahara. So i usually end up with either a big asym like the jackal ghost, or my purple tank.

Should have shown the cores. VERY similar.
Looks like the Rattler needs to be set down on the lane sooner and allowed to roll to store up the knockdown energy and your release style does not allow that to happen. Could be a good ball just maybe not for your style.

I know this is a year later but, the Rattler was not even close in comparison to the Shock. Specs for both balls can easily give way to my initial statement; the Shock was built to handle "Dry-Medium" oil= Versatile, where the Rattler was made for "Medium-Heavy" oil= 1 Trick pony. One thing that was not said about either ball is that the mid-road price point speaks volume. Latter in 2023 EJ Tackett "Nuked" Belmo in the PBA World Championship with the Shock. Hindsight is a B*&^%.
Numbers are not very close, they are almost identical. 😂
The rattler imo based on this video just doesn't look nearly as good as the shock...the shock is hard to describe its a VERY misleading ball, sneaky af hook monster.

The Rattler gives me Pearl vibes...Long and strong. The Venom seems like more overall ball - nice midlane control and continuous

For my 1st symmetric I end up getting a Cosmos.
But that Venom Shock was a close second choice.
I might have made the wrong choice.
The hook on that shock looks real nice when compared to the copycat Rattler.
