Absolutely awesome video and history lesson. Although not born in Columbia County, I grew up in the western part of the county in the Lake Lona community. I also attended Lake Lona Elementary School until its closing in 1963. What fond memories this video brought back of my childhood in the 50's and 60's until I left Lake City for the Army.
Seeing the old Kmart plaza is a trip. I could almost see the original mall entrance too! Crazy how life changes.
